In the West nobody liked RPGs, this isn’t new. These games have ALWAYS been for a certain type of player. They were never “for you” to begin with because “you” probably jumped on during the FF7 hype train.

Except they’re fine features the first time you’re exploring a dungeon, it just affects travel time so you can actually play more of the stuff you want to do even if the game makes you backtracking (Now, there is an argument to be made about requiring backtracking through areas with dudes like 20-30 levels below you…
