I’m not betting on this, but could it be Lucid? Or are the Saudis willing to keep pumping in the petrodollars to keep them afloat? (see what I did there?)

That’s generally what I’ve seen. I just hope the bad press doesn’t kill the company, because it’s a fun, and generally well-built car - built by the same company that makes the Jaguar I-Pace, Toyota Supra and several BMW and Mercedes-Benz models.
I’ve been in touch with a few other guys who bought Oceans, and none of us has had any actual mechanical problems, although we all gripe about the key fob. It’s a really fun car to drive, it’s fast with overall good handling, and the inside is quite nice. I love having Spotify, and iHeartRadio and other apps for music…
I got my Ocean One in October, and have been lucky to have had no significant issues. Yes, the key fob is a bit flakey, but mechanically the car has been great. I've gotten four over-the-air updates so far, so the infotainment system has improved a bit. My only issue is that a giant rock gave me a rock chip on the…
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to me, yes, yes it is. It's uglier than any full-size pickup I’ve ever seen.
So, it’s both hideously fast *and* hideously ugly. I'm quite certain the Cyberbeast will appeal to a certain segment of Americans, of which I'm not a part.
Came here to say this!
Sometimes I see an older car with a bunch of quasi-hippy stickers, with some Bigfoot and NASA stickers thrown in. Usually on an older Subaru. Those people are all right in my book.
This will be an unpopular opinion, but I’ve noticed a pattern in the area I live in (Pacific Northwest) where a disproportionate number of the cars that cut me off, or refused to stop at a crosswalk for me, are Audis. Not the Q7, that’s a popular family hauler in my neighborhood. But any new(ish) Audi sport sedan, and…
I originally thought I would get a Model Y, but last summer, Tesla has raised prices so many times that the long-range Y was over $63K, and so I put a deposit on a Fisker Ocean One (launch edition). It was finally delivered last month. Since I had put my deposit down before the law changed, I actually got the $7500…
With his first company, they were attempting to build the car themselves. This time, they outsourced the production to a large contract manufacturer (Magna, which builds the Jaguar I-Pace, and several models from BMW and Mercedes), so Fisker is just doing the design, marketing, delivery a d support. Although so far,…
Two can play at that game - start adding up all of the hidden costs of burning fossil fuels: lung cancer deaths, work missed due to respiratory system problems caused by pollution from ICE engines, pollution from broken oil pipelines, pollution from oil rig disasters, the cost to taxpayers of cleanups of those messes,…
Where are the headlights? Are they really thin, and somehow in that gap between the hood and bumper or something?!
This is my question also. Like, what's the size of the population that both (a) has the money to purchase a cybertruck, and (b) lives in such a crappy area that there are bullets flying around. It's just a stupid gimmick. Even dumber than my Ocean's "taco tray", that I'll probably at least get some infrequent use from.
If you’re in Oregon, it could even have been mine! I do like the car’s looks, and the giant sunroof. Sadly, the weather turned gray and rainy today, so not many more chances to use that until next spring.
Thanks! For us, an EV for our second car makes sense; we have a Kia Telluride for road trips, and hauling both kids (and sometimes their friends) and dog around, but the bulk of our driving is just my wife’s grocery runs, ferrying kids to baseball, tennis, taking the family out to dinner/movies, to the park, or the…
It’s a little weird to me that the person who bought it chose white (the color that is free for the base trims), when they could have picked any color they wanted with the Ocean One launch edition. A lot of people got the matte blue, which looks really cool - like satin. The only reason I didn’t get that is that matte…
The EPA range is 360 miles, which is quite good for the form factor (crossover).
Mine was delivered last night - it’s a blast to drive, and well-made. Software is relatively basic compared to Tesla, but fit and finish, and overall build quality is better. The sunroof is huge!
It’s great that they’re investing in EVs (finally), but I decided 18 months ago to never buy from Toyota again. Even if they had the best vehicle for what I was looking for, I’m not willing to support a brand that was one of, if not the largest political donor to the House members that voted to overturn the election…
