With his first company, they were attempting to build the car themselves. This time, they outsourced the production to a large contract manufacturer (Magna, which builds the Jaguar I-Pace, and several models from BMW and Mercedes), so Fisker is just doing the design, marketing, delivery a d support. Although so far,

Two can play at that game - start adding up all of the hidden costs of burning fossil fuels: lung cancer deaths, work missed due to respiratory system problems caused by pollution from ICE engines, pollution from broken oil pipelines, pollution from oil rig disasters, the cost to taxpayers of cleanups of those messes,

Where are the headlights? Are they really thin, and somehow in that gap between the hood and bumper or something?!

This is my question also. Like, what's the size of the population that both (a) has the money to purchase a cybertruck, and (b) lives in such a crappy area that there are bullets flying around. It's just a stupid gimmick. Even dumber than my Ocean's "taco tray", that I'll probably at least get some infrequent use from.

If you’re in Oregon, it could even have been mine!  I do like the car’s looks, and the giant sunroof.  Sadly, the weather turned gray and rainy today, so not many more chances to use that until next spring.

Thanks! For us, an EV for our second car makes sense; we have a Kia Telluride for road trips, and hauling both kids (and sometimes their friends) and dog around, but the bulk of our driving is just my wife’s grocery runs, ferrying kids to baseball, tennis, taking the family out to dinner/movies, to the park, or the

It’s a little weird to me that the person who bought it chose white (the color that is free for the base trims), when they could have picked any color they wanted with the Ocean One launch edition. A lot of people got the matte blue, which looks really cool - like satin. The only reason I didn’t get that is that matte

The EPA range is 360 miles, which is quite good for the form factor (crossover).

Mine was delivered last night - it’s a blast to drive, and well-made. Software is relatively basic compared to Tesla, but fit and finish, and overall build quality is better. The sunroof is huge!

It’s great that they’re investing in EVs (finally), but I decided 18 months ago to never buy from Toyota again. Even if they had the best vehicle for what I was looking for, I’m not willing to support a brand that was one of, if not the largest political donor to the House members that voted to overturn the election

The air-vents are digitally controlled, via the big touchscreen (you drag the “fan” image to whichever direction you want the air to blow). There were some reports of them not working properly on some of the early-build vehicles, so Fisker replaced them all with an updated assembly.

The air vents are a known issue, they replaced all of them on the early cars built before they switched to a different version.

That’s really good to know, makes me feel a lot better about dropping $65k on it (after the $7500 tax credit I got grandfathered in on, since I paid the down payment before the law changed last year).

They’ve built (or their contract manufacturer, Magna Steyr has built) over 5,000 of these so far, although only about half of those have been delivered. Magna also builds the Mercedesz G-Class, Jaguar I-PACE, BMW 5 Series, and the Toyota GR Supra. So the build quality is likely better than, say, a Tesla Model Y,

Exactly. I'm struggling to feel any sympathy for car dealerships. The car I'm in the process of buying right now is direct sale from the manufacturer (an EV)

I have mixed feelings about having locked in a price on a new EV 15 months ago. At the time, it was about the same price as a Tesla Model Y (but with a longer range), but prices have fallen since then, and now my $69k Fisker Ocean is probably $5k more than the equivalent Model Y. On the other hand, with inflation,

I went and saw Oppenheimer on Sunday, for $4, and there were way more than 16% additional people at the theater. For a late Sunday afternoon (5:25 pm), there looked to be close to double the normal amount of people at the Cineplex. There were large groups of teenagers, there to see Barbie and blue beetle.

The Z80 processor was also used in the Tandy TRS-80 (sold by radio shack), which is the computer I learned BASIC programming on, in the 7th grade.

That was my first thought as well, I had to look at the function keys on the right and notice it was two columns, and not a single column of wide keys.

Wow, So they had a safety officer who wanted to do at least the bare minimum. And they fired him. Unbelievable.
