Thanks Ashley, that made me smile :-)

This looks and feels very similar to the original NZ movie (having only watched that like, a year ago). I’ll probably check this out! Thanks.

That any company would fail to put in place basic plans for the death or unavailability of the CEO, when he alone has the password to tens of millions of customer assets, is just... it strikes me as criminally negligent.
Well said. I have a Pixel 2 XL, and it’s a clearly premium device. When I first got it, friends who only ever used iPhones asked me if it was the new iPhone on seeing it.
For parents, who don’t want (potentially nude) pics of their teen children streaming to the internet, this could be a pretty serious flaw. Granted, for most people, it's not going to be the end if the world, but judging by the fact that Apple immediately disabled the entire group call feature, they're aware of the…
It's past time to mandate vaccinations for any child without a medical exemption (like a compromised immune system, or allergy to the vaccine constituents), as determined by a doctor certified by the state to issue exemptions. At the very least, that should be the rule for public school or to use public transportation.
The vaccine is 97% effective after two doses, 93% after one dose. We don’t know how many vaccinated children were exposed, and we don’t know how many of the infected, vaccinated children had one dose versus both.
I think Flytrap is asking about the *effectiveness* of the vaccine, since some vaccinated children were infected. The vaccine is 97% effective after two doses, 93% after one dose.
And yet, there are laws against it. There don’t need to be laws against something “just because I don’t like it”, but laws banning discrimination by companies providing services to the public were long ago deemed to be in the interest of the state in ensuring equality among citizens.
Well, society as a whole does not agree with you, which is why there are no segregated lunch counters, stores, “whites only” water fountains, and so on. And, in fact, laws banning such discrimination ensures that all citizens have equal access to services. The idea that competitors would “swoop in” has been shown not…
Student discounts are not necessarily age-based pricing, since many students are in their late 20s or 30s. I’m not so sure about senior-citizen discounts, but you may be right about that.
Yeah, Christians should pay $20 more, and white people should pay $30 more, and if you’re a white, Christian, that’s a total of $50 more. And Asians, well, let’s see, how much for them....
This sounds soooo like something that would work for me. So I did a quick Google, and it seems for a mere $3,450 that I, too, can be rocked to sleep by my bed: https://rockingbed.com/product/king/
Just... sad. A little searching turned up a 12-year old news article from Orange County (where Santa Ana is located, where this demented guy, Brandon, lives). When he was nine, his father’s car was hit by a drunk driver, which put his little brother in a coma (not sure if the brother ever recovered or not). His mom…
Based on another source for the image (which shows it in a magazine, with Spanish text, indicating it’s in Mexico), it’s a 1984 VW panel van:
Not one comment? Really? I can't be the only guy who gets back hair removed...

Thr criticisms of Cadillac being too "inside" GM seem close to the mark. Yes, Porsche is part of Volkswagen group, but they're not selling Jettas with fancier interiors. And after the first few years, Lexus wasn't selling up-trimmed Toyota's either. Having Cadillac lead the charge on fully-electric cars is a good…
What, no love for Magnavox and the Odyssey / Odyssey II ??
I don't suppose it was a rail gun.... Not that you could say.
