If you want (for the most part) straight news with a good community (albeit opinionated, but for the right reasons) I'd suggest Eurogamer.com. It's a bit less absurd.

The issue is you do not own your games. You talked about if the network went down, but did it occur to you that they'll take it down on purpose? 15 years down the road, when you want to pull out a title to impress your grandchildren from the XBone, you'll find a big giant error message instead of Halo 26.
