I suggest not looking at a cayman or boxster.

Wow this is disappointing. Elon has made bad calls many times but sprouting Trump/ infowarrior talking points is just too much. How about you go to a hospital and shake some hands and change some bedpans Elon?

NP considering the shape. Also I love the 90 degree belt turns With alternators at at a twisted angle these corvair engines have, looks super sketchy but I guess it works.

Holy crap I thought the photo was screwed up! If this looks as clean underneath as on top np all the way! I wouldn’t have chosen a hornet (a gremlin would have made more sense) but awesome execution!

Normal car dealers and their sales weasels can suck a big bag o dicks. As soon as they start their bullshit I shut it down and walk away every time. I bought my last 7 cars online with no weasels needed nor appreciated. What I want is walk in, drop a check, sign the title and walk away. Start your bullshit and i’ll

Really.... I’ve owned GM vehicles and they have all had the bare minimum brakes to barely do the job hence with even mildly aggressive driving you overheat and warp the discs and glaze the pads. This is one of the reasons GM cars were not popular in Germany (and GM left). They don’t have the brakes (or handling) to

That’s right, what I read was Deere’s are like bmw’s or VAG or Mercedes. If You break something connected to the canbus you can buy the part, install the part but the part won’t work unless the dealer tells the car to work with that module (codes the module). You can get around by buying cracked dealer software but

I view this the same as constant software updates for style, unnecessary make work projects to justify their (in this case industrial designers) existence. There are more important things that need doing like making the grills less huge and ugly and making cars people want.

Meanwhile here in Canada Mercedes is switching the sprinter from Diesel to PREMIUM gas!!! We pay on average $0.25 more per liter for premium and will go what 20-30% less distance per liter. Should be a winning strategy.

It’s obvious, it’s because they are racist. They’d be happier if they could use the “N” word.

Yep, and very soon they will be a lot smaller. Ireland and Scotland will be leaving soon and the sun will have set on the British “empire”. They will be back like they were in the 70’s with jobs gone and industries ruined but hey, at least they won’t be beholden to Brussels.

Great points that I used to use here in Canada both for fun and actual safe winter driving until manufacturers got rid of “handbrakes” and replaced them with electric switches that you can’t even operate till stopped and would not want to anyway as they only have off and on.

Deserved or not (I’ll let you decide) but my German counterparts thought Opels were inexpensive junk that could not handle life on the autobahn. The only GM products they find interesting were the corvettes (which were sold as Chevrolet over there not Opel). You also note in Germany not a huge Toyota or Honda uptake.

Harsh but I agree. If I die in some shoddily conceived and assembled contraption I designed then it’s hardly a “tragic accident” and more “death by misadventure”

Something similar happened in my area years ago with a propane truck (fireball was visible 25kms away) and they ended up tearing down the overpass due to the heat wreaking the concrete.

Model’s X and S use a lot of Mercedes parts and I think damned near every Mercedes has been recalled for these bolts (my two have) so not shocking.

I have chinese coworkers and they tell me we are not hearing the whole truth. It is SUPER bad in China right now with cities locked down and no one allowed on the streets in some areas. Good way to slow transmission but don’t expect any manufacturing to get done, it’s just not happening (and I don’t blame them).

Because supercharging is more fuel efficient. Superchargers take power all the time to run and that required power worsens fuel economy. Hellcat supercharger is taking 50HP+ at full steam. Turbo’s are using waste expanding gas hence are not taking HP to make HP (okay there is some slight loss in exhaust efficiency but

Not for me but for some silicon valley worker sick of commuting 1 billion miles every day this is perfect. Park close to work and look like a delivery van and not a “homeless” guy. In fact make up some fake plumber decals and you can probably park this thing anywhere without being hassled.

Stop touching yourself. God (and Jalopnik) knows what you do alone (and sometimes in groups).
