There is no law for underhood sound reduction. There are laws on exhaust noise but those covers under your hood are not “by law”.

4.8 LS and 7.0L LS are the same size on the outside. Bore and stroke does not change outside dimensions.

I’m a sport bike guy but have ridden Harley’s and buells (and everything else with two wheels) and the last buells were actually good bikes. Yes too expensive per hp and the tranny was still clunky but fun to ride and great for someone who wanted something different. Basically Harley killed them just as they got good.

514 lbs for a 500cc! What did they make it from cast iron? It must be Harley slow.

Just kidding but are you new here? GM and fucking over their history for a buck are like two peas in a pod. It’s not just their favorite move, it’s literally their only move. Take any storied nameplate and GM will have screwed it over and ruined it for future generations. It’s what they do.

As a manager of a small “skunkworks” I approve this message. We get hired by big companies with huge engineering departments and resources and do what they can’t in fractions of the time they would take to even agree on a spec. Why? Big company inertia. When everyone with a “C” title and their hangers on gets to have

1950's to 1970's. Look at a 1955 to 1957 Chevy. Full sized normal person car, nothing special. I think maybe the roof panel is shared between 1955 to 57. Exterior and interior a different car every year! GM “A” bodies. 1965 to 1967 one base chassis with substantial changes every year, 1968 to 1972, one base chassis

I don’t know where you live but where I am a 1 million dollar house is not anything special and a $500,000 house is super basic starter home (probably not even detached). Certainly not buying lawn service money! I drive a used GL and a GLK for the wife. Paid for in cash, who needs debt.

Yep, GM China is basically Opels rebadged as Buick’s. Now they sold Opel what are they going to sell in China? rebadged Malibus? GM shot off their own arm.

Pretty sure Transits are made in Turkey and just have the rear seats removed in the US.

I taught my kids “punch buggy” then almost immediately regretted it with the older beating on the younger and then the crying and the whining. It’s like having Trump in the backseat (except they can make full logical sentences)!

As an engineering manager have you ever worked with engineers? 99.9% are just normal people with all the normal people stupidity. Only very few would I trust with my life or a wrench. And FYI yes, I have worked in the auto industry and yes that percentage still stands.

Actually I meant (and thought I said) the opposite. F1 should be advancing the state of the art in batteries, battery management and motors. I could totally see mass, charge and the usual shape, tires and aerodynamics being limited and otherwise letting F1 teams go nuts.

As much as it hurts to agree with him this is unfortunately obvious. As manufacturers move away from internal combustion having internal combustion based competition will make less and less sense to the “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” motor racing argument. Add to that the inevitable environmental arguments and the

I have a root beer brown GLK 250 for my wife and I actually love driving it. The upright windshield makes it feel like a mini g-wagon and it’s surprisingly quick off the line with ridiculous diesel torque (369ft/lbs!). Even with her heavy foot it runs at 7L/100kms all the time (33mpg). I love that it’s not a FWD based

My uncle had one of those, same colour too. His had a wood bumper however for that extra Canadian charm! Lots of fun driving in it. My other uncle put a 200w pioneer system in it (first separate amplifier system I ever saw, we’re talking early 80’s) and it could nearly kill the headlights at night (not that Lucas

I’m a motorcyclist and dirt bike rider and agree with your statement. Proper place and proper attitude or GTFO.

Harley are their own worse enemies. The Buell’s were just starting to get a good following with people I respect actually saying good things about them (and I rode one, the transmission was “agricultural” but as a sport tourer I could see the draw) when boom, they killed it. Basically the analogy is apt, like GM Harley
