Lemons is really no worse than stasis leak in regards the timey wimey stuff. It's all pretty classic dwarf. Even some of the new elements like the vending machines were taken from unused ideas from season 1

I still rank most of season 8 as the worst Red Dwarf ever. BTE wasn't so bad and atleast it had the excuse of taking place in a fake reality. Yeah it looked cheap because they made it for almost nothing.

I'd love another sci-fi sitcom in the vein of Red Dwarf. Futurama is possible the closest we have gotten so far.

I'm glad Misfits is done, I loved it at first but it never really recovered from losing it's original cast.

Well that seems quite plausible, you could frame it with the current doctor telling a story about his past or something and cut back to the "present" time to time.

When I saw the short, Night of the doctor I got sad. I knew I would never really see this Doctor have adventures again and now I really really wanted to.

Red Dwarf covered the JFK assassination in series 7, it was pretty well done all things considered.

I call BS on that, most of the higher ups have left since his original run of the show. It may have been the reason he left but his reluctance to come back for the 50th seems petty. Don't take the role if you don't want it.

I read it as more as "I like you and now we are going to die, farewell." I don't think the kiss would have eventuated if they were not in a hopeless situation
