I hate it when I stop at a red, in the left turn lane, and here comes a cyclist squeezing through traffic to stop in front of me, then cycle out into the intersection before the light even turns green just to get a head start. Then it turns green, and there’s a bike in my way.

You sound like the kind of guy who plays amateur traffic cop in the passing lane.

I think politeness and befuddlement go hand in hand. I grew up in a small town, and a lot of its citizens never ventured beyond its borders. Something as simple as a 4-way stop confused the hell out of these people. They could arrive slightly before 3 other cars and end up waving everybody through, simply because the

I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned: Cyclist, if you are driving on the road, you have to follow ALL the laws. That includes making a full stop at a stop sign and actually stopping at a red light.

When being polite to one person means being an asshole and inconveniencing another (usually more)... it’s not really being polite.

The polite thing drives me bonkers. Not only does it cause slow downs but it causes accidents. If you have the right away, you go. If you have a sign (or lack of sign) telling you to do something, do it. There’s an entrance at a shopping center near me where it’s a 3 way intersection. Cars coming off a major strip

Because it’s week 6, and one guy has been practicing their offense for multiple years. Oh, and because Kap is an average QB at best at this point in his career, even if he was on a team whose offense he knew.

Sure looks like his knee hits, in bounds, at the same time or before his elbow hits out of bounds. After he has regained control.

The Jets? More of an anal history.

No doubt the Yanks and their fans did NOT get hosed. It was a home run even if the stands were completely empty. This isn’t controversial or close at all.

Judge was not going to catch it, and it was high enough to clear the wall.

He didn’t even catch it! He doinked it, and his dad had to snatch it up off the damn seats.

At one time bill Cosby would have been on that list so ...

definitely team dog on this one.

This. The complicated part is arriving at what your taxable income is, not finding that taxable income on a chart and figuring out how much you pay. The scary part is that so many people have very little understanding of how taxes actually work. The most glaring is how many people don’t understand the progressive tax

The bracket simplification argument really burns me. We could go to 10,000 brackets and the computer I’m typing this on could probably compute every US taxpayer’s income tax in about 4 days, maybe 4 hours.

But NOOOO: “Reduce the number of brackets, THAT’S what makes the tax code so complex!” Lying liars with pants on

Exactly. Seth MacFarlane’s comment was tonally perfect.

This actually makes me respect those jokes and the writers who wrote them more. That’s pretty subversive of MacFarlane to do that at the Oscars imo.
