Haha, I generally agree but you’ve kind of shown your cards with that conclusion: If you are too lazy to do research then buy the phone the other sheep have.

Are we really so singular in our thinking?

You are bringing too many valid points to this conversation full of vapid smug.

The social justice warriors can’t turn off the smug, so they’ll grasp at any excuse to rail on a rich white guy.

Being a smart, stand-up guy, I figured Damon would get a pass from Social Justice Warriors, but I guess being white and rich puts a target on his back. All of this shit is overblown, but people love the sound of their own smug so they won’t miss a chance to take a shot at Damon.

Ignore the venn diagram at your own peril! It’s only tedious because you aren’t grasping it. I thought for sure the venn diagram would clear it up, but obviously not. As I’ve said before, all MRAs are misogynists, but not all misogynists are MRAs. Simple concept... or so I thought.

That would be a 1:1, which would work. But Jezebel is trying to lump all misogynists into a sub-group of misogynists. Sure, they have some similarities, but they’re not part of the sub-group. I maintain this frequent (over) use of a widely hated phrase is nothing more than click bait.

Hahaha, I don’t think it works like that. That would be like saying cancer causes death, so if someone has died I can conclude that they died of cancer.

So I guess we’ve officially run out of even minutely important things to get upset about?

I now realize I should’ve worded that differently. Given what I know now, I should’ve said, “Jezebel is painting too widely with the MRA brush strokes. They seem to be throwing around this phrase in a click baity fashion when the antogonists of the stories are clearly not related at all to the MRA cause nor do they

People here keep saying that these douchebags call themselves MRAs, but do they? I know some people call themselves MRAs, but I don’t think these guys do, nor do most of the people that get called MRAs. Granted, they should probably be called much worse than that, but it just seems so click-baity to throw out the

Really? She’s about as histrionic as they come.

My point is just that these guys aren’t even actually MRAs. They aren’t saying the legal system needs to change the way rapes are handled or asking for any changes whatsoever. They already have the right to not get married to a person for whatever reason they choose. All they are doing is spewing hypocritical

They are spouting hypocritical nonsense, but they aren’t campaigning for anything. They already have the right to not get married to a girl if they don’t like her life choices (even if her choices were pretty much the same as their own).

Haha, yes, someone here is obtuse but it isn’t me! I’m not arguing that MRA is or is not a misnomer. I’m just pointing out that Jezebel seems to apply the term far too liberally. I’m sure some people identify as MRAs, but I think the vast majority of people referenced as MRAs in Jezebel do NOT identify as MRAs.

And... once again... all I’m saying that I’m sure there are some people who identify as MRAs, but most of the people referred to as MRAs by Jezebel don’t actually refer to themselves as MRAs. So no, this isn’t a label they have taken on. This is a label that is being way overused.

Is it really? All you really need is a little common sense. People acting like entitled hypocrits =/= people campaigning for rights.

Ok, but all I’m saying is that they’re not the same as these guys. As others have mentioned, all MRAs are assholes, but not all assholes are MRAs. Jezebel seems to think any asshole = MRA.

No, that’s not accurate. I’ve heard the phrase before (only here, never go to reddit), but this article really exemplified this minor issue I’ve been noticing. I’m sure MRAs exist, but most of the articles where I see them mentioned don’t actually seem to be about anyone campaigning for men’s rights and sometimes

I don’t disagree with anything you said. I just still don’t think MRA applies to them since they don’t seem to be advocating for any rights. They’re just publicizing their hypocritical double standard.
