My question is what do they do with warriors game if this game gets pushed into its start time window. Do they go to a cable network? Seems odd to ask broadcast customers to go to cable.

Did you...actually watch either game they played last season? Do you realize that Golden State is actually much BETTER than it was last year? I'm not ruling out the cavs by any means, but if your hopes are pinned on Kevin Love somehow beating the warriors defense (if he can stay on the floor, being a huge defensive

He totally should, LeBron was Draymond green before draymond was ever drafted, with more actual talent. The problem is apparently LeBron HATES playing 4/5, according to windhorst and others who are around him constantly. It baffles me, it's a devastating weapon he dislikes because it's hard to guard bigs, I guess?

I agree! I’m sorry if my comment implied the cavs had no chance to win, it was aimed solely at how bad of a matchup love is specifically in this type of lineup. It works versus Detroit because their bigs are fairly young and inexperienced, despite being very talented.

I didn’t get into it in my comment but the place this will really murder the cavs is on the other end, Love isn’t a good enough defender to handle their offense. I agree he’ll still have at least a chance on offense, but that's irrelevant if he is a defensive black hole.

Yeah honestly I think it’s going to be a situation where his effective minutes against the warriors could be when their bench is in and he can go against speights.

Somewhere, Draymon Green was watching this game with an enormous grin on his face. This strategy may continue to work on the Pistons, but Love will get eaten alive doing this versus the Warriors.

It’s a good thing Golden State hasn’t gotten way better since those finals. Like if their leading scorer and reigning MVP had increased his scoring by over 6 points a game, the biggest increase for an MVP in the shot clock era. If their wily 4 man had somehow doubled his assist average and had over a dozen triple

Yeah Lebron in a weird way is a victim of expectations. I’ve been a fan of Steph’s since Davidson, thought he was picked way too low at the time, but even I didn’t foresee what happened with his game in last 2 years, 5 years into his career. LeBron on the other hand has been anointed as the Chosen One since he turned

You’re right, I overreacted, I’m just tired of hearing about Steph’s poor defense. It’s especially galling when people were seriously trying to argue for Harden as MVP last year when he just takes possessions off, defensively. Steph obviously has some size disadvantages but almost always puts in effort on defensive

Steph is basically the Amazo of NBA point guards. Elements of his game are formed from the greatest powers of Isaiah Thomas (original), Allen Iverson, Steve Nash and Chris Paul. In addition to these abilities, Steph has a shooting range that is basically any part of the basketball court inside the boundary lines.

Sorry that was unclear, I meant the defense the warriors play on him. He no longer has an offensive game that demands extra attention. You're absolutely correct he is still a good defender, and he's totally serviceable on offense against 29 other teams. He gets eaten alive by the warriors, as do most big men. Aldridge

Duncan can’t hang with the warriors pace or defense. Draymon Green probably salivates unconsciously every time he thinks about guarding Duncan. Boris Diaw was the bigger missing piece for Spurs last night, hilariously enough

Yeah, it’s not like steph is leading the league in steals this season, he’s clearly a bum on D.

See, I thought they only hired Byron because it was someone Kobe would tolerate, and as soon as Kobe announced this was his last year that meant it was kind of Byron’s too. Like I said I’m not a Lakers fan though, so it is very possible you’re right and I’ve misread the situation.

So, presumably most people would agree that the truly unfortunate outcome of this story is to apparently vindicate Byron Scott’s repeated pronouncements of Russell’s immaturity? I don't like the Lakers at all, but even I am sympathetic towards Lakers fans if this in any way helps Scott somehow keep his job.

Just listened to the NBA Lockdown podcast and Amin mentioned that players for the warriors had openly discussed wanting to get that mark of not losing to the same team twice in a season. He didn’t mention names, presumably it’s either from post game comments or something he got from Ethan Strauss.

You kind of mentioned it in the article, but the really weird thing is that Virginia was Breaking the first layer of the press and getting the ball well past half court after a few plays. The result was often a single UVA player with the ball on one side with another across the court, and only one Syracuse player

I think we’re missing the real story on this play. This was next level, out of the box defense on steph. Usually he is only open because you missed a defensive rotation, but the other 4 guys at least are somewhat guarded as a result. By leaving him open AND Klay open within 10 feet of each other, the mavericks forced
