Part of the problem with getting Macross localized is that its just not lucrative enough to fight over. Its a series whose main hook is giant transforming robots, but whose content places it just beyond the range of the key 8-11 year old demographic, so its not something that Cartoon Network or another US media entity

Think Frontier is by far the best series, quality wise. Plus and Zero are both pretty cool but more like capsules of what Macross is about than a full introduction. Frontier is essentially everything the original was with modern animation and effects.

Good Call Shiryu, 7 is awful.

Yes, in fact PS3 version arguably the best because it has the youtube upload feature.

I love NFS: Most Wanted, but hopefully Criterion's next project could be a real burnout game? That would be nice.

Its not impossible, but given that they haven't even committed to a PC release with this announcement, I'd say definitely not in calendar year 2013 if it does happen.

Okay, my initial reaction is Xenoblade+more guns and transforming mechs? Sign me up.

Don't know if you've gotten to Xenoblade yet but when I compared the output of it from my Wii to the WiiU on the same TV the WiiU picture is noticeably better. I'm not gonna go so far as to say that its a major reason to upgrade or anything, but its definitely nice for someone like you that gets to go into these games

Frankly I wasn't particularly impressed by this game, having played the first several hours of it on the EU version. Its definitely got that "weird, kind of creepy" anime vibe down, so I suppose it might be entertaining for some just on that level, but the actual gameplay felt sort of like a sub-par Zelda game to me.

I don't disagree, wonder if Nintendo will do it differently when they finally release the WiiU VC. Personally would rather have my games organized by device rather than by game on the homescreen anyway, will be interesting to see what they do.

Except it is a technical limitation, because as I mentioned in my other comments the WiFi streaming used to transmit to the gamepad requires calls to hardware the Wii was never designed to support. Yes, Nintendo can and certainly will redo their console/arcade/computer emulator packages to support those functions,

Well and the problem moreover is there is specific hardware being used by the WiiU to transmit data back and forth to the GamePad that the Wii, for obvious reasons, is not designed to support.

As stated in the article, Nintendo has said they are working on creating a VC for the WiiU that will work on the gamepad.

I take that to mean you don't believe they are still working on "BESTGAMEEVAR", FFXIII-Versus? :P

Oh I wasn't asking you to change your taste, if you like hot dogs that is fine, I just wanted to make sure you ALSO tried the prime rib and the NY strip steak :)

Ok, just please tell me you've at least played the two GOOD games it was based on, Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3?

Just to clarify, you're nostalgic for the magazine, not for Secret of Evermore, right? It was such an incredibly awful game.

Would like a mod that just shoves 360 controller sticks and triggers into the WiiU pad and then a little switch on bottom next to power switch that can switch pad over to the 360 controller board (which could be shoved into that massive gap in the battery compartment somehow, surely) so I would only need one

Interesting.
