That was the second blowover and the team pulled out of the race that year.

It’s not really a left or right issue NEITHER party care.  You don’t see either party standing up demanding something like random inspections of mines in the DRC.  As with pretty much all mining, no one wants it near them and would prefer it’s in brown countries where they don’t have to see it.

And therein lies the rub....she either attempts to fly commercial and turns every airport she enters into a stampeding, screaming shit-show, or she flies private and burns a lot of petrol.  The latter actually seems more sane, more efficient, less dangerous, and far easier for herself and staff.  Meh.

It hides away if you don’t want to see it, and all of the car’s functions can be controlled without it.

What a hellhole this automotive blog has become.

I’m sure you’ve got it all figured out.

Also context - that trillion dollars is the full lifecycle cost of the entire program, from development to ongoing maintenance and upgrades.

Context: Lockheed Martin has delivered about 1,000 F-35s so far. This was a developmental aircraft with new technology installed, on the way to Edwards Air Force Base for further testing.

Public transit could have fixed all of these problems.

Why are we even still holding Zoom court sessions these days? It made sense during the pandemic when large gatherings of people was a risk, but I figure we’re past that at this stage.

The Jalopnik clickbait headline doesn’t reflect the emphasis of the actual study at all. The headline makes it sound like EV batteries are on their way out after 3 years and Tesla is shirking warranties. The article is actually about how robust EV batteries have proven generally.

I’ll wait for that Wish sale for the magic USB stick that will auto-magically turn your high speed beeping off for the low cost of $50

Would be nice to know how many of the drivers who were behind the wheel of the EV were distracted at the time they hit the pedestrian.

Exactly my thoughts, like maybe if pedestrians had even a base level of vigilance 99% of incidents could be avoided. Get off your phone, take off your headphones, and watch where you’re going.

All of the comments that show up on these tariff discussions always ignore half the story to make arguments in favor of cheap EVs.

Gotta say, best race of the season, and in a very long time.  Props to Lando! 🏆

You know, I always thought Idiocracy was supposed to be a comedy, not a documentary, but here we are. When I was a kid I was told to be mindful of car doors, hoods, and trunks because I could break my poor little fingers. Now, we have people doing it intentionally for clicks.

Disqualification from the race and a fine actually seems not harsh enough for what looks like a clear, intentional violation of the rules - especially since it would require drivers to be aware of a cheat and actively used it. Surely they need to dole out some race bans.

even a record like Lover (at the bottom of my personal album ranking) is notable for taking big swings and trying different sounds”
