At a previous job, I had a remote control gantry crane. My coworkers and I routinely used it to move heavy equipment around, although nothing as heavy as a Tesla. During operation, all non-essential personnel were cleared from the area and nobody ever stood or walked in the way of the equipment. It was always under

It’s remarkable (and remarkably depressing) that the “fake news”/conspiracy theory culture has progressed to the point that some people will believe that any potential criticism of a consumer product they happen to like—even one as self-evidently imperfect as this beta feature—must be the result of a vast conspiracy

To be honest I think the ‘70s really only appeals to people who did not take part in it. when I think of the ‘70s I think of sweet bubble letters that are bright yellow with orange or brown outlines. Basically to me the 70s are 50% the poster for a blacksploitation film 50% living out the movie Smokey and the bandit.

I lived through the ‘70s and will never look forward to a ‘70s-themed ANYTHING.

Seconded

Do it for a week. Have a fun 50s automagazine themed week hell you could do each decade. I would really be looking forward to the '70s personally.

China and eBay. I had an old e39 BMW that wasn't in production for at least 16 years, but Amazon and eBay are flooded with replacement products. Sure, not as high quality as the BMW original part, but the car is worth pennies on the dollar from its original price. And occasionally mechanical bits and electronics are

Yes, but who is going to continue to make and stock replacement armrests for a discontinued Malibu in a variety of colors...

This. An armrest cover made out of synthetic leather shouldn’t cost $400 plus bucks. Engineer common failure points to be easily replaceable, and out of materials that are more durable.

boosting the longevity of interior parts by 50% requires an investment in new material composition and design

It’s not a horrible idea for a ‘road warrior’ - which is what the salesmen in my company like to call themselves (Which is hilarious to me. You’re staying at a Hilton Garden Inn, you're not Mad Max) - provided there isn’t a work around for it only being able to be used when the transmission is in park.

Was this whole thing just a pitch for your Waluigi game?

In the latter half of it’s lifecycle, no one wanted the NSX back then either.

Um no.

Well, they’ll be far less safe, so take that

I can’t believe how blatantly these guys are ripping off the Geoff design...

I just did a cursory search of the internet, and... seriously, I get that a CVT can (in theory) improve fuel economy, but lordy, they all seem to suck. I don't care what car it's in, CVT's just seem like a bomb that goes off every 50-75k miles.
