I think the original story still stinks (conflicting reports of who was actually driving, Hart appearing intoxicated and being snuck home before going to the hospital) -- but... This is a lousy thing to be sued for. A heavily modified 50-year old muscle car... Enter at your own risk.

Rollcages are unsafe in road-going cars as they are more likely to cause a traumatic brain injury. They are not designed for use without a certified helmet used in concert with them.

Why would they run less regen?  Wouldn’t it pay to take advantage of motor braking even if you don’t need to bank the power for one-off laps?  No matter how much brake you have, it never hurts to have more!

Yes basically but on a street car using street tires and rubber bushings, chassis stiffness is not really a big deal.

Its more like 400-500lbs minimum. Could be even more on a luxury car like a Tesla

A good rollcage should be far below the weight of the standard car interior.

She wants to return the lease (surrender the vehicle) which I said that’s fine but she needs to pay the remaining payments plus any overage she has. After she berated me because the manufacturer should take care of the payment because she’s not driving it anymore,”

Considering Boomers are the reason the car market is fucked. Probably a boomer

Letting all that happen for $4k is a really bad idea.

Lack of thinking was the issue.

Having seen the mess the Experian deal has created for millions of people— There probably DOES need to be a serious Third Way Movement.

So here’s a similar scenario I’m currently dealing with. I leased a car to someone 4 years ago who wanted some small and cheap. She decided on a leasing option because using her trade in as money down the payment was stupidly low. Fast forward to a few months ago and she’s outgrown the lease but still has 1 year left

How did someone think a lease was a good idea when they put 70k+ miles on in <3yrs?

For the first question, just pick whichever country on this list sounds best and move there.

You can pick up your free t-shirt.

My first foray, years ago, was a six-month around-the-US trip for a book tour.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’d also suggest a magnetic compass. If GS and cell phones fail you, having a simple compass makes paper maps far more effective, especially at night.

What about protection?

There are two benefits I’ve heard people say as the reason why they use a van over a camper. Otherwise, I agree- the camper is an obvious choice, and what I would choose if I were to do this.

She won. Her ideas and thoughts were dumb, but she increased her profile and that allows her Conservative grift to go on. This is the same person who won a discrimination lawsuit against her high school. She knows about discrimination and our history in this country.
