"All Pauline wanted was a little customer service."

Plus, it's very possible the person who bloodied the crotch put the bikini back themselves because they were too embarrassed to speak up about it. And if this never really happens perhaps the manager wasn't sure exactly how to respond. I probably wouldn't have gotten her name or information either because what would I

Seriously? I don't understand all the outrage.

Understandably shaken, Pauline asked to speak to a manager, who pulled her aside and gave her some hand sanitizer and a 30% off coupon. No one took her name down, no one offered to follow up with her.

Agreed. Those kind of slogans reduce a woman to being no more valuable than her breasts- and that's a tough message to hear when she's faced with losing them to save her life. It's not just not funny, it's also deeply dehumanizing.

It's especially annoying to me because often one must sacrifice the breasts to save the woman. And many women struggle with the loss of their breasts, to the point where they would rather take risks than lose a body part that society deems necessary to be seen as a woman. So no, I do not give a sh** about saving

Ok. But that is a totally different issue than people being mislead to think that the money from this is going to research when it's going to "awareness" and only a small portion even goes to that. Proclaiming "Well other orgs do it!" doesn't absolve this group of their shadiness. You aren't going to convince me that

As other commentors have noted, they actually raise "awareness" not money for research. And at this point, if you aren't aware of breast cancer, then you are living under a rock. So yes, I would prefer for them to use less objectifying messages and perhaps not get a jizz-bag to shell out $5 for a rubber bracelet that

And according to my link, people have been mislead into thinking that money goes to research - by way of people deliberately saying such or by lack of info on the products. I looked at some yahoo and wiki answers and people are largely convinced that their money is going to research.

Ugh, that's awful, I find that I'm more vocal than my peers about feminist issues, so I've been labeled similarly on occasion too. It gets pretty frustrating. Especially when "feminist" is used as an insult.

I wish more people understood me when I get worked up about this. I totally get what you mean. It makes me cringe.

Gotcha, I wasn't sure if you were aware of the status of the group and thought it was something the students had made up.

Yeah. As I've gotten older my concerns about living alone are less "nobody loves me waah" and more the basic fundamental stuff like if I slip in the shower or have an aneurysm there's nobody there to help.

I love Florida. I lived there for almost a decade.

South Africa was internationally isolated because a large group had no rights based on their skin color/ethnicity/race. Everybody is happily doing business with Saudi Arabia. It's just women after all.

I agree with you, in a broad sense. She helps the Democratic party campaign, but she doesn't actually make policy decisions within the party.

Speaking as a former unpopular kid, I've always thought "popular kids peak in high school" is a total myth. Now the really viciously mean kids in middle school I do believe probably ended badly, because they probably had some messed up stuff going on at home. But the kids who were outgoing, bright, and athletic?

Oh, those pesky olds, coming in and ruining everything.
