I will never forget Michael Andretti’s comments when asked what it was like to go 240mph at Fontana. Paraphrasing... “As you stare at the wall coming at you, you hope the damn car works when it gets there.”

Thats true. But generally the folks who make the decisions are not the folks doing the work. They want the baby but not the labor pain.

Re: Hot Water Heater. Its really a Water Heater.

I am game! I learned to drive on a 1972 Chevy Pickup with a three speed on the tree. No big deal other than the lever throw was possibly 18" long from first to second.

Yes please. Just kill the monolithic “brutale” structure design aesthetic.

I can imagine what that is like too. We hated doing work for the GSA.

It will costs substantially more, because the suppliers have to deal with the US Government to do business. I know because I used to work for Navistar’s Integrated Coachworks here in Tulsa. We built complete school buses as well as activity buses and buses for the US Government and military. One of the huge reasons

The problem comes into play as rules are introduced to make racing “affordable”. The same is going on in NASCAR. The cars become homogeneous, the racing is generally good, but the cars all look the same and ultimately boring. When the budgets were unconstrained the fan base was strong, the best drivers could be

Very few customers actually bought one of those things and even looked at the mileage with any kind of concern for fuel economy.

Its always funny when listening to the Radio LeMans webcast during practice, the announcers get super excited when any of the large displacement V8s rumble down the pits and roar off.

Is it too much to ask for you to park your own expensive car?

The one bright side of this drive, is that you will intimately know every single part of the car, instinctively know what socket you need for each task, what wrench is required and can put together a simple tool kit to keep in the car.

This is the reason why I do not own a sport bike. I know eventually I would feel compelled to use it at a rate that overcomes my skill at controlling it. That doesn’t mean I cannot learn to control it, or that I think no one else should own one. If you want to own a Hellcat or MacLaren P1 or Koenigsegg One:1 then good

The bad part about the state running the inspection process is that it would cost the state $14 trillion dollars to do it. Like most other mundane things the state and federal government do that they somehow find a way to sink billions of dollars of tax money into and still do with the aptitude of a bag of turnips.
