Yep, my top search engine now is DuckDuckGo because it doesn’t have stupid AI guesses at the top (which rarely are anything more than tangentially related to what I searched.) I only go to Google or Bing if I can’t find something in DDG quickly.

I genuinely didn’t know that Chevrolet still made the Malibu.
I’m not sure if it’s really been “lost” for most American, middle-of-the-road-type cars (pun intended), though, because most of them never had steering feel to begin with. I remember back in the day listening to the olds delight in how great their cars “handled” because you could steer with one finger. Never mind the…
This looks neat, but it’s really just a van with fewer seatbelts. I can fit a table, canopy, & chairs into any car that will also function really well as a car the other 99% of my time. There are some remarkably nice camping chairs these days and the seats can be taken out of any van. A fun idea that doubles as an…
In many markets places you would want to go with this would have quality public toilets.
I can’t speak for the real world improvements of the new engine.
When a truck has indicated they want to change lanes, let them AND go one step beyond and give them the double-flash indicating they are safe to do so. Momentum is everything for a vehicle weighing 80,000 lbs. and you may even get rewarded with a double-tap of his brake lights.
The problem is people calling it “first class” when that’s gotten so over-the-top ridiculous, like you say Emirates private suites with showers and shit…it’s much more like modern business class, laydown seat with some half-walls to isolate and lots of nice amenities…and still cheaper than most legacy carrier business…
That's honestly super cool.
I’d laugh at that, but well... yeah. With how insane things have become, you could probably buy that and own it effectively for free. That used to be the realm of Ford GTs and Porsche 911's, but here we are with 20 year old Camrys.
chevy bolt.
How about the following generation with a V6? All around nicer, still lacking all the annoying modern tech.
Anyone else kind of expecting to see a mint 90s era Camry (based on the headline), only to be quickly and rudely reminded how freaking old you are?
Loved that book! Recommended follow-on reading is “Longitude” by Dava Sobel.
Way back when Hot Rod magazine took and old Caddy and did “Caddy Hack.
Yea, it really is. I am not involved in the traditional media side, so I only get top level numbers here and there. But on a Sunday in an NFL city, something like 20-30% of all the cable households are watching their NFL team play while even a major NBA game might get 5-10% viewership (or less) and a random TV show on…
For $14K i want something dependable - like a 10 year old Range Rover.
Yea, we also have streaming services as well. But luckily we can “share” some of them with family so I think we are only paying for like 2 or 3 of them. I work in digital advertising and the streaming services landscape is a mess, but it is and will slowly but surely consolidate. Especially since some of them are…
So... you’re mad because you were stealing content and they finally caught up with you? That’s pretty rich coming from someone who makes a living producing content at an ad-supported place.
The value you get with F1TV is absolutely worth it to me. Access to all on-boards, all sessions, ability to watch old races, tech talks, F2, etc. I share an account with someone else and have had zero issues with us both streaming at the same time so that cuts the cost in half too.
