Because unfettered capitalism exists only to boost the bottom line of the companies we want it to.

I’d have to learn a lot more about the mods before I could vote one way or another. What “big brakes,” what “big turbo,” who tuned it? Was it tuned? What tunes are there? And who fiddles with the suspension and what did you do? What was the meticulous maintenance?

Can’t wait for the inevitable Tesla bailout. Their charging network will be declared too big to fail or something, the guys at the top will get their golden parachutes while the little guy suffers and the taxpayers foot the bill.

That Colorado dash cam footage is pretty amusing, because at least 1/4 of the videos the driver of the vehicle with the dash-cam is doing something equally idiotic. Or contributing to road rage instead of just leaving well enough alone. Also, if you’re driving in the snow behind someone, and they crash and you hit

I mean, “better” is subjective. If you lived in a city and never went above 40, sure, one of those little Kei trucks would be great. But... if you need to do anything with it on a normal road, not so much...

You get used to it surprisingly quick. I rented a car in Ireland where you drive on the left of the road and the driver is on the right side of the car, so you shift with your left hand. I drove (my awesome diesel Toyota Corolla) for a few hours and it was quickly second nature. We drove about 800 miles over two weeks

This is why gun control needs to be a federal issue. Of course, we couldn’t get anything passed if our lives depended on it. But, in a functional democracy, this is something that would be a federal-level law. What’s the point of having a patchwork quilt of different rules about guns when it can completely undercut

Oh, 100%. The difference is academic. I guess that was my poorly made point. Hell, I know the rifles and if someone pointed one at me in anger there’s little chance I’d know. Or, care.

It’s built on the global platform. So, it’s not a separate platform than the Impreza. But that platform now includes the Forester and Ascent - very different cars than the Impreza. The only car not on that platform is the BRZ. Subaru touted a lot of good things in the switch to the global platform. Stiffer suspension

Since plenty of people couldn’t pick out an actual AR-15, it’s entirely possible this was a .22 “AR-15" since people see this type of gun and just call it an AR-15. Plenty of guns that look like an AR-15 come chambered in .22 LR. Or, people don’t realize that .223 isn’t the same as .22 and assume it’s a .22.

Great for motor swaps though!

I have to imagine bringing those back to life is exceedingly more simple than a modern car full of electronics.

Shit I didn’t even know $4k cars even existed anymore, let alone a giant Porsche SUV with a v8. This is (sadly) the new level of fuck-it money for a car. Easy NP.

There’s one reason for prohibiting the cars: no American or Japanese car-maker wants this competition here. It’s the 1970s panic over Japanese cars all over again. It’s just a different Asian nation.

Meh.

Either race in the rain as is or don’t. But these half-assed measures aren’t going to do it, and will just end up as so much more broken carbon fiber on the track no one will be doing any racing anyway.

Had a rental one a few times. It’s fine. Tons of space. But the last one had the CVT and 1.5t and it was pretty bad. I don’t know why you would ever buy one over a Camry/Accord.

Always amusing to me to hear them thought of as a non-Ferrari. Always strikes me as one of the most Ferrari looking Ferraris. I love them. Always the almost-obtainable Ferrari.

A generally safe amount of caviar per person is 1/2 - 1 oz. So, 1 oz definitely doesn’t stretch to 10 people. Unless they don’t like caviar.

Fuckin Pete. Man.
