I can’t imagine that anyone is complaining about a plane that is landing. Planes are pretty quiet when they are landing - as quiet as 70 decibels. With the TV going you’d be hard pressed to even hear it. I lived under a landing approach for a while, the vast majority of modern turbofans are approaching silence on the

Guessing it’s one of these, modified for post-apocalyptic street cred.

Your wife sounds cool.

I don’t think Sainz is willing to play second fiddle, and that position requires that. Also, waaaay back in 2015 when they were at Toro Rosso together had what Marko referred to as a toxic relationship. I think this was mostly due to the amount of family involvement from both parties, but that hasn’t really changed

Agreed. If I had to guess, his reaction to being told to let Ricciardo through, then taking two laps to do it, and then his post-race shenanigans have completely ruled him out of ever moving beyond the junior team. RBR are ruthless, and expect compliance and perfection.

I watch all of qualifying and then 30 minute race recaps for this reason. Qualifying is the only time you get to see these cars run in anger and it is there that you can really see a driver operate on the knife edge. Verstappen’s crash in Jeddah comes to mind - he was beyond the knife edge there, well into the

Can we really call four paragraphs an article? Jalopnik used to have actual qualifying/race recaps and discussions. For some reason, as F1 got more and more popular in the US, their coverage of actual F1 racing has gone down.

What’s up with those airbags? They don’t look deployed? It looks like someone slashed the dash to expose them?

I completely agree - it doesn’t take too many of these instances to make RBR management completely take him out of consideration for sending him up to the big leagues. Danny knows this for sure. Although I don’t really think there was ever much likelihood of it happening - they know what he’s like already.

Yeah, Ricciardo was coming fast on Yuki - second a lap almost. Should have made the call at lap 44 instead of 48. Clearly Yuki is upset at the situation far beyond the call for the swap.

I get why he was upset for sure. Reality is they should have ordered the swap well before Yuki even got that close. Ricciardo was closing on Yuki at a second a lap on softs around lap 45 - they should have just ordered the swap then before Yuki caught up to KMag and seen what happened. Ricciardo was much faster than

Yuki (which is misspelled in the article, btw) and Ricciardo are absolutely coming together this year. Yuki is quickly resorting to his hothead self now that he’s so (rightfully) mad about Ricciardo coming in and seemingly having preference for the RBR seat next year.

Certainly the same at the sharp end. But the battle for second will be excellent! I'm praying the rumor mill is true and verstappen will switch to Mercedes next year. Be amazing.

I would have never guessed this was a 10 year old car.

My god that’s an ugly car. Ok from the side I guess. But Jesus, the front and rear end are things only a mother could love.

Shame.

Always dumb advice to me. Sure, don’t buy more than you can afford and don’t get 22% interest loans. But like with everything else, be sensible. My last car loan was for in 2018 for an off-lease 2015 Forester with 18000 miles. It was $16k at 2.9% for four years. The money I could have used to buy it but instead kept

Oh, I mean, I agree. Without knowing how the process worked, and the internal review structure of RBR, and who did the investigation, I would never equate it to a government investigation - I was just making the point that “independent investigations” are far more common than people think and there’s no automatic

No hate from me. The Model Y is awesome. If it wasn’t out of my price range it’d be a lot more tempting. Drove in a friend of a friend’s all over California and it was excellent. The prices for gently used Mavericks are finally coming down, and it looks like I’d be able to pick up a lightly used one for right around

As a person who is “five-foot-nine,” that sounds like it wouldn’t be too much of a problem. I appreciate the information very much! I don’t think I’d ever want to stick a person between my kids anyway, so I don’t think that will ever come up. As long as there is enough room for the driver and passenger, it sounds like
