In general, unless you’re training for the same scenario - and regularly - you will not revert to habit/muscle memory/whatever you want to call it when things go down. Panic will set in and most people will revert to normal panicky things.

I’m pretty dubious myself. The number comes from an article I pasted below. It also doesn’t say how anyone arrived at that number. Even with it fully staffed (40 crew) every day, and generous payments to them (probably not, but say $5 million for the year for all crew) only gets you to $14k per day. Add in the $7.5

Makes me wonder what those two chucklefucks are up to with the 3 Body Problem.

Man, I hope so.

I haven’t seen any antisemitism. I’ve seen lots of criticism of Israeli policies. But, criticism of the actions of a country can’t be considered antisemitism. People should be free to criticize Israel’s response to the slaughter of their people by Hamas just like people were free to criticize the United States’

Unfortunately, this is all too likely to now end in settlement. Tesla will not want to take this to trial where they will have to admit that “self-driving” was (is) not capable of doing what was advertised.

Speaking as an attorney, class action lawyers are the lowest of the low. Everyone who joins the suit can look forward to their $93 reimbursement and the payment of staggering piles of money to the attorneys. The worst.

Oh man, those grid walks. I only hear about them after the fact. I absolutely do not care about them. While I don’t love Max as a person, I think he is bang-on accurate that F1 has become far too much about the show than the race. And Brundle’s gridwalks really fit in with that. It is not interesting nor relevant.

I had F1TV a few years ago and really found myself missing the Sky One team. I’m ditching Hulu at the end of the season, because the prices just keeps creeping up (I think I’m paying $90+ now) and my plan would be to switch back to F1TV Pro.

Unique ride at a post-covid fuck-it price. Always liked these things, so, it’s a NP from me.

From my limited experience, the issue with these bikes is that the battery just doesn’t last all that long. Around two years of regular riding and charging is what the four people I know got before the effective life of the battery rendered it largely pointless. Then its a $500+ replacement battery.

Dang. That is wild.

Not all that uncommon on street circuits. Definitely recall one in Monaco, with maybe Button? And definitely once in Baku, to George Russel, but I think it happened there twice. It’s happened elsewhere, but I just can’t remember. Although I don’t think any of the other incidents did this much damage to the car.

Fellow east coaster and I definitely don’t plan on watching any of it live. Hulu records all the F1 sessions for me. I usually watch all of qualifying and then the race, although most of the time these days a good bit of it is on fast forward...

I’m definitely excited about it’s potential. So many unknowns. It’s a race where we could see some teams get it completely right and some teams get it completely wrong. Those races are, generally, some of the better ones. So much of it is high speed straights and even fast turns, but there are a couple low speed ones

The first time I saw my neighbor’s Avanti I had to drive back around four one way blocks to make my way back to it to go look at it. I didn’t even know what it was. At first glance I thought it was some vintage Ferrari or something. It’s one of the prettiest cars I’ve seen and miles ahead of most other offerings in

Not to be awful, but what, exactly, should Carnival do when some idiot decides to jump off one of their lifeboats into plainly obvious life-ending waters? Drag the thousands of other paying customers into a pointless search for the missing passenger? I hate cruises just about as much as possible, but to blame Carnival

They don’t photograph well. But my neighbor had one and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Oh yeah, Vegas is trash by day, for sure. I get it. But sunset in Vegas right now is 4:30 PM! Lol.

Qualifying is at midnight!
