Yeah, that one resulted in raised eyebrows from me as well. ABS does not typically shorten braking, it just allows you to keep your ability to steer because the wheels aren’t locked up and panicked people forget to let go of their locked brakes. And in fact, the opposite is frequently true - ABS can significantly lengt

The 1993 Hess police car is definitely a Panther knock-off, because its rear wheel drive as evidenced here.

The reality is, we’ll never know. Why the FIA opted to not inspect Sainz and Russell, I don’t know. But if they were not running with the same ride height risk as Leclerc and Hamilton I’d put some stock in the theory that Hamilton made a strategic call and it didn’t work out. I’d suspect that Russell was not running

This is the inherent problem with the sprint race formula. Mercedes/Ferrari did not have enough free practice running to understand the ride height limitation with the track and come up with a ride height that reflected how much wear over the course of a full GP would be. There’s no way they did this intentionally for

I've always loved this. No idea why, just think they're really unique, and these days, super rare.

I always wondered about the headlights! They look like they'd be terrible, so, it's not a surprise. For some totally irrational reason I've always loved this car. When I (now very rarely) see them I think they still look quite contemporary and modern. The exterior. Jesus. The interior sure does show how bad the 90s

I bet you could talk this grandpa-owned Lincoln Mark VIII down to $5k.

I love it when my local towns make national news for absolute batshit crazy reasons.

They can ban right on red when they get ban “dumb” traffic lights. In my city they went absolutely ape-shit with traffic lights, probably in the 60s or 70s. Every four way got a stop light even if the total traffic at the intersection a day was 100 cars. So you can spend 10 minutes on a 25 minute drive sitting at red

Once the scripting became brutally obvious it definitely stopped being as enjoyable. Although it did always make it more entertaining when things actually did go wrong. But yes, it definitely became a comedy/variety show at one point. And a car show third. I think it’s why I don’t really enjoy the Grand Tour, at least

Definitely agree about the magic/chemistry that the “original” Top Gear trio had. But that was definitely a chemistry worked out over years. The early episodes, 2002-2003, were definitely not the same as the later years, and it was all rather awkward with the roles not quite filled in yet. It was also filled with far

That Ford LTD LX is pretty awesome. Not a huge domestic guy, so I’ve never even heard of it. Basically a four-door Mustang by the looks of it. I dig it. They should have brought it back when the Chevy SS came out.

Yeah, this. The problem is that the laws that already exist to protect pedestrians and bikers aren’t enforced. At all. In my county the only solution to people running past stopped school buses was to put red-light style cameras on the side of school buses. In one month, one!, they handed out more than 500 tickets.

I agree - needs a bottom up re-design. Top down? I don’t know. Lol. But complete. They’ve been applying various band aids since 2014, but I think they need a fundamental redesign.

I remember thinking the same thing. Just give me open world Forza 4 (which is what I was playing when I tried whatever Horizon that was out at that time).

The only problem with wet races is that they don’t allow them to race in the wet. The tires are fine, it’s just that F1 doesn’t want to race in the rain anymore, only on a drying track. Shame, because those were always some of the best races.

We also really need to come up with some way to regulate e-bikes, which seem to be de rigueur now. The problem is that they travel almost as fast as motorcycles/scooters (in city traffic) but have no apparent obligation to comply with any of the regulations those vehicles have to deal with. No blinkers, no brake

I think my current Forester (a 2015) could be an SUV - it’s pretty big and tall. But in 2004 they were... wagons. Lol. I’ll die on that hill. That said, I do agree about the awesomeness of the Forester XT. Friend had a 2004 I drove a few times which he built up pretty well. Around 300whp and a lot of suspension/brake

I’m not quite sure of the assignment. There’s nothing dumb about Rory ’s K-swapped Lada rally car - that shit rules and is exactly the kind of thing I would do if I had the time, money, and skill for it. I love it.

I think staying in your own battery ecosystem makes the most sense - even though I love my Stihl. But I made the mistake of not doing what my advice is, and now have three M18 Milwaukee tools, a handful of Makita, the Stihl chainsaw, and a handful of Dewalt 20v. It’s.... a hassle. I’m not quite sure how it happened -
