Wore those fat ass DC shoes when I was a troublemaking teenager in the late 90s. Loved him since then. Watched him at Rally NY every year in 2005 and on. Caught up with him one year at the end of a stage, maybe 2007. He came over to take a look at a friends built 9-2x we drove down for the rally. Super cool guy. Real

Oh man. I forgot she died. That sucks. Still.

Ha. That is eerily accurate. Oh, and the fee to use the ATM is $4.95.

35 grand. For a 13 year old BMW. Pardon? Knock $15k off and I’d probably interested. But that’s a ludicrous price.

That’s honestly preferable to the private lots in my city (Albany, NY) where the owners sign up with predatory towing companies who drive around waiting for illegal parkers and then tow them with a $225 tow fee and $125 storage fee.

The takeaway from me from this year’s crop of cars is that for the first time in a while, Tesla is in real trouble from its competitors. There are established manufacturers making better products and there are two new startups making better products. Elon better put down his shiny Twitter toy and start to pay

You can very easily go down that road though. We don’t subsidize most fruit/vegetable crops, but corn is subsidized astronomically to a tune of about $12 billion a year, all as a result of lobbying by the big-farm industry. This drives down the cost of corn syrup and other uses for highly refined corn-products. This

I just can’t get over the nearly three-ton weight. That’s just wild to me.

A Prius has no business looking that good.

Not sure how this is news to anyone. I’ve been buying refurbished stuff for years. Decades probably...

I agree. Thought they were ugly when they came out, and time didn’t do anything to improve their looks. I wonder if it wasn’t for Jurassic Park... 3? whether the sales of this car would have been what they were.

But wait a minute, hardly any of those cars weigh more than 6,000 pounds?

I mean, true. But, I see plenty of 24 year old cars on the road. Dozens a day. 90s Subaru Outbacks or Honda CRVs or Toyota XYZs or beat up old Ford/Chevy/GM trucks. For a car that sold as well as this one did, you’d think you’d seem them once and a while.

These used to be everywhere. The fact that I can’t even remember the last time I saw one makes me think that you don’t see them anymore for a reason. I’m not sure how this one survived. I guess at $4k it’s a running and somewhat interesting vehicle, so it’s probably an automatic nice price. But I’d be really wary of

Maybe with an automatic this is a $3,500 car. But the six-speed versions fetch a serious premium. This car, even at the high miles, will likely appreciate in value.

Mine was an ‘88, so a little newer than these. And a wagon. I called it the Red Baron. Because the thing was so ludicrously slow, it was a great first car for a 17 year old. There was no real danger of driving too fast, so I had to find other ways to get into trouble. And that 4wd low range could haul and drag that

$1,200 for 68hp is pretty cheap. A Flyin’ Miata stage 1 turbo kit adds 67hp and it costs $4k. I realize that’s a strange benchmark, but, hey, Miata is always the answer. Or something.

I had a Subaru GL. It was awesome. I also took it over sweet jumps and did shit I wasn’t supposed to with it. It was the best.

Looks like it sold, which bolsters my idea that it’s a solid price. Be a good winter project. Probably even flip it for a profit in the spring, if that’s your thing.
