These are getting desperately hard to find, and if you want one (like I have most of my life...) it’s getting to the point where they will only be going up in price. I don’t like this listing and I don’t much like the seller. But if I was in the market for one, I’d travel to go look at it and figure out what’s what.

$5k for a cool, drivable project car seems like a good deal these days. I always liked these, and if I was a little more mechanically inclined (and it wasn’t a million miles away from me) I’d probably give this a looksie.

This will result in me not watching F1 anymore. Fortunately, it doesn’t really sound like a real idea, just a theoretical possibility. I would prefer a modification to DRS, and active aero sounds like an interesting way of doing it though.

Ecclestone pitched that years ago. I agree though, rain is always the great equalizer.

My understanding is that the devices have been made. And tested on monkeys. And the tests are not going well. But, Elon assures us that, just like every other product of his, it will be ready for human trials “in six months.”

I agree. And the far more common rebuild is the bare-bones version and frankly, that doesn’t go far to make me buy a 400k mile car.

I’d like to know what the rebuild entailed, and what was addressed. Based mostly on boat motors, people’s definitions of a “rebuild” vary wildly. So, provisional NP, but, he better have some receipts.

It will almost certainly be Vasseur, who Leclerc was paired with back at Sauber/Alfa in 2018. And Vasseur will give Leclerc number one status which I think may be disaster for the team.

That stuff was wild. I couldn’t believe it. I’m assuming that was Leclerc’s request, but who knows. And they kept it going for a while and started it doing it with Sainz. I don’t blame the drivers for wanting input - especially given what the team put them through - but, it seemed to add a layer of unnecessary

That brings up the very thorny issue of the difference a driver plays though. Its essentially unresolvable until you get the same people in the same machinery. But Perez could not duplicate Max’s success as evidenced by the standings. Or the qualifying record. Nor could any teammate of Verstappen. So is it really fair

I completely agree. I think the car was there or close to there the whole time. Maybe Verstappen would have won anyway, but it should have been much closer. I think far more of Ferrari’s failures can be traced to strategy problems. There’s the obvious bad strategy calls. But there’s also the increased burden that

It’s pretty shocking. But, tick a few option boxes and basically any mid-tier car’s out the door price with taxes and registration is knocking on the door of $50k.

I take a good amount of satisfaction (provided that everyone is ok) in seeing people in SUV and trucks skidded off the road. I live in mid-state NY, and it is consistently surprising each year how bad people are at driving in the snow. The SUV and truck owners are always the worst offenders, and the schadenfreude from

They better straighten everything out, because all signs point to Mercedes being back on it for next year, and Max will need all the help he can get now that Mercedes have two top drivers. Although maybe there will be some uncharacteristic infighting over there next year as well...

People would be out for blood if it was Verstappen. But, like you said, everyone likes Checo so it’s going away. I also like Perez, but that is pretty unacceptable sporting behavior.

Yeah. The house thing is bonkers. I bought a house 8 years ago in Albany, NY because my rent was going up and a mortgage was less than the raised rent. So I bought a house for $83k in 2014, did some work over time on it, and sold it last month for $155k. I was completely shocked. So, I guess some people have money to

I also enjoy criminal work. But, like you said, it’s easily the most stressful area you can practice in. There is something deeply unsettling about being so completely responsible for a person’s liberty and freedom. I’ve done a decent amount of misdemeanor cases and violations, but I’m currently working on my first

Well said. I do love just reading and learning about cars that come up for sale there.

Oh, hard agree. MV is a petulant asshole, and this was a serious moment of cutting off your nose to spite your own face. Checo did a lot to get Max points. It’d be one thing if they were asking Max to give up a podium (I still think he should do it, unless he was fighting for the win). But to give up sixth place or

Certainly don’t. Seems like the vast majority of these pilots are well north of 60. Which is its own set of problems.
