You’re still missing the point. Everything I mentioned should have happened before “Our process for claims begins with the shipper documentation and the value they have declared on contents”
Wait, is this why UPS couldn’t find the package? Their “corporate” employees are too busy fighting on the interwebs?? You got me, I’m totally convinced now, UPS is the best! You’re not just the spokesman, you’re also the model!
Those are my exact thoughts. They’ve been giving him the fuck around for a year and the second he says he found it and he is getting the cops involved all of a sudden they know exactly what happened to it and that the buyer bought it legally. What kind of fuck shitery is that?
Sorry, you’re wrong on this & you’re missing the key point. It doesn’t matter what the shipper and buyer did. UPS lost something they weren’t supposed to lose. Then they continued to fuck up by not finding something they clearly had the opportunity and capacity to easily find. All they had to do was actually run a…
Pretty sure you won’t understand this, but UPS doesn’t track boxes based on insured value. And as others have stated they still have refused to reimburse him based on the insured amount. You’re making an exceptional argument for being the stupidest person on the internet today.
Right, but that doesn’t explain how it got on EBAY. UPS has a database of items that have gone missing and it should have been located. This looks like an inside job and UPS is trying to wash it’s hands of it by telling their customers to read the fine print.
As I understand it there are divisions at UPS. Your regular Amazon or less then 50LB order...And UPS freight. As a contractor I have ordered many large Items UPS freight, (A fuckin sawmill even) each and every time a unmitigated disaster. From dispatch to delivery something goes wrong allways. Twice I have paid guys…
Point #2 is what really jumped out at me. That is unbelievably shady. I could see if it had made it to Michigan before that happened. But being auctioned as undeliverable BEFORE even getting to the correct state? That stinks of foul play.
I agree. If he’d gotten a lawyer early on I bet that package would’ve been found because it’d be escalated to someone remotely competent.
I work for a partner of UPS and I can second all of this, but the biggest thing that caught my eye was a ‘Lost and Found’... Does that shit actually exist?? If you’re shipping something, it’s neither lost nor found, you simply haven’t delivered it or returned it.
Read Malcolm Gladwells study of kitty Genovese. The police were actually called many times by dozens of people during the attack....The reason no one intervened was because they believed someone else would. It’s one of those psych iconic tales that’s absolutely false in every way.
The whole point of insurance on a UPS package seems ridiculous to me. In what other industry do you have to pay extra money, to ensure that the company is responsible for the service you’re already paying them to complete?
Having worked for UPS and from what I know, even if the package had shed its label, there’s a whole huge department just for that purpose. They are supposed to look up the item anyway they can, make a new label and send it on its way. Something more is going on and its UPS’ fault.
Rob is a really funny, entertaining guy, and he seems like a genuinely nice person, too. It sucks that this happened to him.
That being said, what the fuck is wrong with UPS? How is it possible that at no point during this entire ordeal, someone at UPS realized the bad publicity nightmare this could become? How is it…
It’s a bad decision for a delivery across a few states. It should be common sense for something this expensive/unique across half the planet.
Tell it to the book.
Or she was excercising her FREEDOM not to engage in meaningless displays of patriotism. How loudly you sing the anthem or how straight you stand for the pledge doesn’t show how patriotic you are - it’s all a show for other people. If you were truly patriotic, you’d defend the values that make this country great -…
Let the woman have her quiet protest of reading. If she not actively trying to hurt people, let it go.
I am a really heavy Waze user- I think I’m like #900 in my state. The day I can selectively remove only “Vehicle Stopped on Shoulder” is the day I will consider Waze to be all grown up. So many little things make it just not quite perfect.
