I recall predictions made around the time of the Apollo 11 landing that those footie-prints would be there for a billion years. Interesting how our view on things changes over the years...

A silly notion, true or not. They had their own manned moon landing missions moving well along, and cancelled the whole thing once we beat them to it...

Funny how some people see things reversed like that. It happens to me all the time, but in this case, I never get that.

I guess my point was that there are, in fact, scientists with faith, and that they are not necessarily compromised by that faith.

The visuals of that movie were amazing, and still stand up very well today. That is, except for the hockey gloves they used for the EVA space suites (that were otherwise awesome)...

It’s obvious now that you mention it, but I never really thought about that until now.
Certainly makes it more believable and compelling somehow.

saying that mosquitoes eat us is a stretch. we eat both mosquitoes and spiders.

It’s because we all realize that we could end up going thru some of that crazy mist, and wind up being hunted by the baddest predators in all of smallness...
