Look; we can, but WE'RE NOT ALLOWED!

I doubt their engines are ready to seriously compete in either output or MTBF. And I believe that they still have a long way to go in training of pilots (on the grand scale, as opposed to elite pilots), ground crew, etc.

I think they're past that.

Honestly, I've never seen this before today. I had the old 60's Hot Wheels Deora diecast toy, but assumed that it was fictitious. Like the Beatnik Bandit - which also turned out to be a real thing. How about that.

OMG! Who the heck thought that this was better than just a friggin' door on the side!?!

Just needs a big-ass push bar!

OMG! Who the hell thought that was better than a friggin' door on the side!?!?

Fair enough. However, a dollar of Chinese defence spending buys a heck of a lot more than a dollar of US defence spending. Engineers don't make anything like they do over here, and production line workers make even less. And I doubt that in China, there are any $400 hammers being paid for... In reality, they're

Yes, yes, I know. They're also deficient in support training- their military support organizations don't have the skills to effectively support ultra-high-tech systems in the field. But that's changing. If we pretend that our tech lead is perpetual, we're gonna be in for a big shock. They can and will eventually

You could say that about many industry segments in China. 20 years ago they were nothing. Now they can compete seriously. I doubt we're seeing their apex right now. They already have fighter jets that are closing the gap- and you know that they can fill the gap with numbers. They will slowly inch closer and closer in

That's an interesting comment. That doesn't always matter as much as you'd think. I was at a war museum a few years ago and was able to look at a Russian T-34 tank right beside a German Panther tank. The difference was astounding. The German tank looked to be much the much superior weapon- better fit and finish,

Surely you're not implying that Japan can dominate China in terms of industrial capacity...

The Chinese could build at least 3 for every one the Japanese could build...

Nervous laughter?

I love these "which way is up" images!

And one that wasn't very manoeuvrable...

F-14 solo was the most amazing thing I've ever seen at an airshow...

That's the problem with military tech- it costs a lot, and you don't really need it. That is, until you need it...
Btw, F35 is the latest tech. I also think that new F22's would out perform the best Russian and Chinese pilots flying their latest and greatest fighters...

Calling the Strike Eagle 60's tech is being just a tad pessimistic, now, isn't it.

Get ready; there's gonna be a ton of it, with a ton of hate to go along with it. I plan on just watching and enjoying. May have to stay away from this place.
