Where are the limits? Is there a limit on the quality of metal that can be printed? For example, could one print a Samurai sword, and have any hope of obtaining the same quality of the steel?

This is very interesting, but as they say, the minors are filled with excellent fielders. Show us that you can hit and get on base, then we'll look at your fielding.

Perhaps your last point is the reason that this technology didn't take over long ago? Another great idea that has serious drawbacks in real life- severe cold, stifling heat, vibrations, water, poor maintenance, etc...
