LMAO who'd bring the popcorn for that ensuing shitstorm?

That scene always make me cry.

Agreed. Upping the power? Sure why not. Suspension work? I'm all for it, but why try to make the car into something it can never actually be. Especially when what it started as was pretty damn good anyways.

I can imagine. Just like with any other kind of racing, watching it on tv only gives you half the experience.

LMAO that, sir, is an absolutely epic story! I can't thank you enough for sharing it, and giving me a good laugh today.

I'll be making the same trip then. Can't wait for it, since it'll be my first F1 race to see in person!

Another nomination for #COTD. Sums things up rather well.

Agreed, I call BS on that one. Don't get me wrong, the Porsche is cool as hell, but untill it rolls out it's still little more than a concept.

Funny thing is, those numbers are pretty conservative since my S will do those, even with my lead footed self driving, without even trying. I average about 30/37 all day every day, on the forums I've seen people get around 37 with the "justa" cooper (non-S) and over 40 on the freeway.

Agreed. I used to kinda poke fun at them and call them clown cars, but when my Mazda 6 finally died, I decided that I wanted a true hatch back so I drove one on a whim.. I never thought I'd end up with one, but the test drive sold me when I found that in stock form itd' drive rings around my 6 that I had spent 4 years

Mini Cooper S I hover around 30-31 MPG in mixed driving, and have seen as high as 40mpg on freeway trips, though 35-37 are more common. Seriously though, it's relatively light weight, fun to drive, holds more than you would think so it has a modicum of practicality to it, is fairly quick despite what on paper looks

this is what a terrifying Miata looks like, forget slammed, or giant wings, just double the number of cylinders :D

I've got nothing against outlandish styles. Bosozuku and the like may not be to my taste, but on principle I have nothing against them. However, when you start intentionally equipping cars with tires that do not fit on the wheels and/or do not have sufficient load and speed ratings for the car, I draw the line. Not

That's a bosozuku style car, which is something akin to an art car. They take performance modifications and exaggerate them to absurd extents. For those cars it's all about being outlandish and there's a good bit of humor in them. I mind them a LOT less than the dumbass hellaflush BS, to say nothing of this Celica

I meant people hadn't done it before for a good reason :) But yes, there is no legitimate reason to subject any car to such treatment.

I'm hoping it was, and read it as entirely sarcasm.

These brave pioneers* of automotive design evidently.

My feelings on this exactly. Lets keep the religion out of things and go back to things automotive related, shall we?

O.o and here I always thought you were supposed to have the treads as the contact patch, but between this car and the celica I now know that we're supposed to drive on the sidewalls.

Negative camber is one thing, but he's damn near driving on the sidewalls! Seriously, what happened to modifying cars to actually be faster than they came from the factory? Now we have idiots putting tires that are too narrow for the cars and setting them up in a way that is damn near undriveable to say nothing of
