@glaeven: yes. It will still install until the cutoff date. They're just taking it off the servers, and not giving out serial numbers.

I love the 'open source' idea of this app.

I used the toilet paper roll trick for smoking in the house when I'm not supposed to. The smell of freshness wears off quicker than pure smoke, (plus a lot of the icky stuff is filtered out and darkens the dryer sheet instead of the air). The smell of smoke coming directly from the lit cigarette is overpowered by the

I am a web programmer, but not a designer. This is where I always get nailed. Any tips for making a site look professional if your design skills are lacking?

Microsoft will surely do another pre-order deal. The last deal they had was for 'super nerds' as Gizmodo calls it. Nobody on an everyday computing level took that deal, or even knew about it. Another huge chunk of people will only own Windows 7 when they buy a new pc. A second deal once the upcoming release starts

This is good information to be known, as there are many MSDN and technet folks lurking at LH.

@UnderLoK: You're right, won't be on AA till the box ships, maybe even later than that. I think vista took till sp1, at least the x64 version did.

@Keeter: Too late to edit post, but I found the toggle for Fahrenheit. metric = 0 instead of 1. (different from other releases). Still trying to reproduce the other error.

I put the new release on my Windows 7 partition (have the last release on Vista) and all was well... for awhile. Firstly, the weather icon doesn't have an easy toggle to change the temp from C to F as the earlier one did. I'm sure the setting is in there, but it isn't labeled.

I am testing this as we speak. (or, as I type) and it seems to do a few photoshop tricks all at once, which is a nifty time saver. It basically does a zoom, soften, despeckle, removes noise, and cuts the color count down to ease gradients.

I have awkwardly flat, wide feet, and a couple of my toes overlap. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find a shoe that fits on the inside. Even beyond running, having the proper fit can stop back pain and keep you standing up straight.

@Sushiwriter: The ads here are unobtrusive. The only ads I dislike are ones that can be misclicked easily (like splash ads and expanding java ads) or ads with sound that make me jump out of my chair at 3am. Besides that, they are fine. People need to pay the bills, and they are well worth the great services we

Genres have been such a guessing game for so long. The types of music I listen to can be placed in multiple genres, and sometimes a genre all its own. At least with this tool I could stop the guessing game of genre classification.

@Eric Zardus: They won't steal it from you, no. But there will be no updates, and if you need to reset your phone, you will have to restore from your backup.

@balls187: agreed. It might as well be called "Leo Laporte and friends, and the creator of that site that OMGPWNIES! frequents"

If I don't have something actually sincere to say, I don't sit there wondering what to put. If it doesn't come to me right away, it's forced, and it will sound like it as well. I tend to just leave a space and sign my name with a dash.

Having the ability to change the look of a browser has always been a part of my work productivity routine. If I can't pick up my laptop and work from outdoors to change scenery, the only other option I have is to change the look of the screen I stare at all day.

It was an odd coincidence I think, but I read from Gina on Twitter that there's a wordpress hack/bug going around, and then all my favorite Gawker sites died... I feared the worst, but I guess it was just bad timing :P
