I honestly don’t know how to be an ally. I show support, then get told to listen. I listen then ask how I can help, and I get told to figure it out myself. I support BLM, but I get the impression as a white woman they don’t want me there. So, I am just quietly supporting them. I thought the march on Saturday was a

I totally agree, and I don’t think that “new” activists should be discredited or discounted or viewed as fairweather friends. What I do hope is that people who attended the protests came out with a decision to follow-up and continue the fight after the streets had been cleared and everyone had gone home. It’s easy to

I’m sort of baffled by the characterizations of these marches as being ‘white women things’. The one I went to in Cleveland seemed incredibly inclusive. There were Black Lives Matter people, gay people, trans-rights and trans people, people with disabilities, young people, old people, everyone was represented.

I’m of two minds on this. On one hand, yes, where was this level of visible outrage around black lives matter and standing rock? On the other hand, does the very nature of being a woman automatically include you in the outrage of ALL disenfranchised peoples? Is one only given “cred” when they express outrage and

The Democratic Party needs to be unified, not divided. The march was open to everyone- Black women, White women from Bosnia or the Middle East who might have experienced rape, white women from Argentina who may have experienced rape by the government under the junta in the 70's, women of any color who might have at

I’m not going to pretend to know the solution, but holy hell, attacking somebody’s limo isn’t going to do it. I follow the conservative news outlets somewhat, that’s what they’re focusing on.

Haha, holy shit calm down. I say this as a gay male.

That’s not even close to the situation. How about:

Who pulled a knife? You are a psychopath. A guy who you don’t agree with was elected and sworn in, what a fucking lunatic you are.

Kind of looks like the protesters pulled your metaphorical knife in this one. And even if that isn’t the case that’s how it’s going to seem to a very large portion of the population. There are reasons why non-violent resistance gained sway. When you lack the ability to seize power, using violence mostly hurts your

This is the dumbest comment I’ve read in months.

I think we can find better alternatives than destruction and violence.

This is so counterproductive.

For god’s sake Huma, where’s your coat, girl?

We might all love her, but Michelle’s dress is a miss.

Nanny here, we all get paid under the table, that’s one of the perks of the job. Don’t get me wrong I fucking hate everything about trump and his supposed ‘administration’ but even my sister who is a nanny in beverly hills and makes over 30/hour gets paid in cash. There are bigger fish to fry.

Absolutely true :-) Even when I have a bad day now or when money is tight, it always pales in comparison to how bad it was in college, so I always have that awareness that a) I can get through anything and b) at least I have a roof over my head, food to eat, etc.

My boss was drinking wheatgrass shakes for a while and complaining about how aweful they tasted. Like, if it tastes horrible, just don’t drink it maybe? Eat a damn carrot or something?

My coworker drinks shakes out of those bottles. He includes oats in his. It literally looks like vomit.
