This is an interesting response, to me. Almost every time people make comments about how some receive parental support and others don’t, people misinterpret the them as saying it’s bad for parents to do these things when able. This isn’t an “on the other hand...” situation.

Ralph is mighty Fiennes!

I know someone from a background who was not struggling who went on food stamps when she was in law school because she qualified for it and felt entitled to it. I did NOT approve of her decision and would never have done the same.

I like her reasons for not doing food stamps. As my friends say: Poverty is a lack of options. She had options, she just elected not to exercise them and had full faith that she’d be able to make good money when and if she needed. When I lived in New York I hung out with a bunch of artistic writer types who would

“But observing that fact, even understanding it, doesn’t necessarily engender empathy. In fact, quite the contrary.”

Ummm no. Not really.

And then turn around say say.... why can’t you do it? Why can’t you travel the world after college and “gain life experience,” and unchain yourself from a desk? You should work for the the things you want I life! Here’s how I paid off my student debt! (Hint, they have rich parents).

You’re being ridiculous, as if that’s a completely normal choice to make. It’s not my fault she did this.

As much as I dislike this effete grumble-fucker... unless there was a disabled passenger on the train... what’s the problem here?

I’m old enough to remember when Josh Taylor played bartender/hottie Chris Kositchek, then he left the show and came back 10 yrs later as Roman Brady. I was like wtf?

Alternatively, it takes a special kind of cynicism to milk personal trauma for fame, attention, and ratings.

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

With cases like this you can always count on an ultra-liberal to:

Like a pack of deranged wolves they needed some poor soul to savage. Unfortunately we all got to witness it and we all want justice served as hard as possible.

Umm, just so we’re clear... the victim was assaulted, detained, tortured, beaten, etc. because he is white, and the four assailants allegedly (don’t wanna jump to any conclusions here) hate white people. And they’re being charged with a hate crime (which is good... that seems to be the right thing to do). So

As to white people yelling “reverse racism”: reverse racism still does not exist. This was not a racist crime, this was a bigoted crime: it was a combination of ableism and anti-white bigotry.

But Jezebel can’t help but label people by their colour any chance they get. Yet here she purposefully chooses not to say it

Never underestimate stupid. It has a consistent way of out doing itself.

How dumb do you have to be to post a video of something like this? I mean, ideally you shouldn’t be committing crimes to begin with, but if you are going to being scumbags don’t fucking videotape it.

This was absolutely horrific and I’m glad they are being charged.
