And why, do you propose, can’t we use dick or assholes?

Well I’m sure glad that he clarified his seemingly racist statement was just a regular ol’ sexist pejorative with unintentional racist overtones.

The Constitution says states get to conduct elections however they see fit. Why can’t the State of Texas see fit to delegate how to handle elections to the counties?

Poll challengers are not allowed to interact directly with voters. The idea behind poll challengers is that because it’s so hard to believe that elections will be run fairly by truly disinterested and neutral parties, we’ll include a bunch of nakedly partisan participants to offset each other.

But the letter of the law said that the drive through voting is actually legal.

While it’s frustrating, he probably genuinely didn’t want these drive in voting settings to be used to disenfranchise more voters.

The republican death cult hates democracy, hates their fellow humans and most tellingly, hates themselves.

The Texas legislature only meets in odd-numbered years unless the governor declares a special session, so it’s not like the lege even could’ve passed Covid voting accommodations if they had wanted to. GOP are a bunch of disingenuous cowards.

Apparently the FBI is investigating the Texas thing but I’m not holding my breath on whether it’ll go anywhere

A possibly naive question, but how is “poll challenger” even a thing that’s allowed?  It seems like a b.s. term for “voter intimidator.”  I’m not a violent man, but I feel like if I went to my local polling location, checked in with the poll workers to get my ballot, and was then “challenged,” somebody would get

Ack, that’s a great point and you’re absolutely right. Just fixed it to avoid confusion—thanks!

probably the same reason the cops dont stop gun rallies or kkk meetings. they are the same people who attend them.

And I give you the centerfold for Fascist Monthly!

Rape isn’t funny or punishment including prison rape. You can do better than that.

Well, I mean, one is an actual Dr. that’s been the head of infectious disease department for decades, and the other’s an uneducated, barely literate, con man and reality show star, so they both have a equal 50/50 chance of being right!

It’s worse than that. I voted in Texas and while waiting in line outside the polling place saw an old couple drive up to the door, park, get out, and wait while a voting machine was wheeled out to the curb for them to use.
