Middle panel shudda been front panel, and yes I'm salty about it.

THIS. I understand everyone taking in the karmic retribution of it all, but having naturally long hair as ‘goals’ is an unfortunate obsession in the African American community. Many fall short and think less of themselves for it, because of family members being assholes with vocal ‘concerns’ and classmates having shit

It isn’t. All that added info means is that entire group of hormonal trash was revved up even more to behave like shitstains.

Thanks because I knew it had to be more than just having a pr team. Everything news is corporate controlled to the point pbs news hour is painful to watch for how far down the can it's fallen.

This was so beautifully written. The anticipation you have made me feel for viewing this film. Details rich like a lush painting. Thank you!

We need White Women Come Collect Your Garbage bulletin boards for every public space.

Know how religious zealots spout End of Days? Well fuck them, but this place is starting to look more and more dystopian and Xanax ain't enough.

The mainstream media tried to walk this back as well yesterday, and even liberal leaning celebrities (like Jamie Lee Curtis) were second guessing themselves, on this one smug bastard. Nathan Phillips has said he felt Nick Sandmann’s intentions were to intimidate, as he blocked him from continuing up the steps.

I would like to have seen that takedown. The media is just as culpable as the government.

She actually fixed her mouth to say that on record. :/

This needed more stars. There’s a hyper sensitivity that light skinned folk tend to have if we have not examined the situation properly, to disengage from from what feels like (or may be in some cases) personal attacks. We wind up replicating the same dynamics that as poc we fight against with white people. You, as a

It was a very good primer, but towards the end it did come off a bit kumbaya-ish. Like everything was solved by hugs and apologies.

Yes, that was the most powerful scene for me too, because it got to the origins of this mess. Light skinned people were doing a lot of upholding of supremacist standards, and were positioning themselves above most black people societally. ‘Light skinned tears’ is merely Karma paying a timely visit. Hurt feelings

Thank you for this 💜

Saw it. It was like it took the pulse of these threads and integrated into the storyline. As for the healing part, I think it speaks to a strong need to have moderated safe spaces online where people can discuss their personal struggles, triggers, and hurts. I’m lighter skinned, I went through my angry stage in my

Hollywood Squares

Yup, remember that episode too. They tackled a lot of issues regarding class, caste, and colorism in regional black communities.

Except there is a history of lighter skinned blacks benefitting from skin privilege and that must be owned. Nobody can move forward if we don't acknowledge where the distrust comes from.

I’ve never experienced a misplaced rage from darker skinned women. I think too often there is a triggering narritive that is perpetuated about ‘mean’ ‘jealous’ dark skinned women that would piss me off no end. I interpret that as legitimate venting of grievances. And I have seen light skinned women flex their
