Yeah, you need to do conspicuous spending. When W tried it the plan backfired because it all went into paying down existing debt. If it’s going to do anything it needs to be spend on new things to drive the economy.

Ya, I’m in a similar boat. I got about $640 the first round, nothing the second, and they just cut me out of this one. I don’t “need” the money as bad as someone who lost their job this year, but I’m certainly not in an income bracket where I couldn’t “use” the money. The real problem here is that the income level they…
I had a guy walk up to me with a stack of hundred dollar bills. He didn’t say how much he had, but based on my own experience, he had at least $2500-3000 on him. He was just handing them out, and I was so surprised I didn’t even answer him when he offered it to me. For a brief moment I thought it might be fake, but…
“Wah, I didn’t like something so I make snarky comments about a show others like because I have nothing better to do, WAH!”
Also, income isn’t everything. I have a good friend who makes significantly less than me (I was in her position before my current one and she has told me what she makes). She has a very small amount of debt, lives with her partner in a $650/month apartment, and her main expense up until a year ago was gas for her…
I absolutely agree with your last paragraph, specifically the last sentence.
I think giving it to someone who needs it more is a great thing to do, and will also help stimulate the economy.
Yeah, it was the biggest draw CBS All Access had, where were you? Boosted their subscribers way more than anything else did.
Yes! On both counts. It was a popular show, even if some TNG fans didn’t enjoy it.
It’s not out yet, but S2 is coming. Picard was far better than Discovery (not a high bar, admittedly), although the finale was a bit stupid.
The thing is that it isn’t really about any *particular* wealth range. I live in San Francisco, got a job at the tail end of last year that pays more than well enough that the stimulus isn’t necessary to me, but since I didn’t get hired until late late in the year, I didn’t make enough money to get classed out.
As B’dilliBay said above - it’s a stimulus, so if your family went and spent it on non-essential items it’s still working.
Which shows how far-right wingnut the modern GOP has become, by comparison.
Moderate Democrats are conservatives.
I just hope they stop using the Playstation Camera and Move controllers. It was convenient that they were able to use existing hardware, but those things are wildly inaccurate in some setups.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called an emergency meeting on Saturday with other state officials to discuss the spike in energy bills.
I expect Griddy to get a bail out with some of that socialist, Federal aid that Texans, being the self-reliant folk they are, look upon with distain and then Griddy to offer their customers a 10% discount on their May billing.
^^^1000% THIS!!!^^^
I think that’s a case of their meaning exactly what they say. They have an airtight argument that they charged precisely what the contract said they would if the wholesale price shot up, but attempting to collect puts them in a position of trying to squeeze blood out of stones. I’m sure they’d be delighted if a…
“So, now that we’ve got your attention, let’s talk about privatizing the water.”
It’s a simple pronunciation accident. People saw “Griddy” and assumed it was a short “i” like “grid” or “bullshit.” They didn’t realize that it’s the “i” that’s a long “e” like in “pizza” or “ski.” The company’s name is pronounced “Greedy.”
