I know this might sound weird, but why not use the moon as the counterweight? I know it's a long way to stretch a ribbon, but I imagine it would be easier to attach to something already there than to lasso some foreign object.

The graphic switching is supposed to all but power down the dedicated card while doing simple things like word processing and browsing the internet. It's a pretty noticeable difference in my experience, and if you have a capable onboard card, it would be almost indistinguishable from using the dedicated card for those

That's mostly true. I don't know how everyone uses their laptops, but when I am not gaming I use the onboard graphics to save battery (usually at work) which would be quite a bit more laggy with Haswell instead of Broadwell.

That's exactly my point. They released this laptop WAY late in the Haswell cycle, and they had already had another version that had the Haswell processor in it. This is a release with just an updated graphics card and -maybe- a lower price? Not very tempting...

Looks like it's still using Haswell Processors, which might be okay, but with Broadwell out in the next couple months why wouldn't someone wait for their inevitable refresh?

Be fair. EVERYONE hates Republicans. At least what they have become in the last 20 years. Used to be people of integrity, but oil speaks louder than morals.

I wonder how much the people claiming to be denialists get paid to post on articles like this. No one can be that stupid, they have to have some dollar figure driving them, but how much would it take to sell out your own planet I wonder.

"Nebulous? You know that the carbon offset trading industry by itself is worth tens of billions, do you not? You are aware of how many billions of dollars of "research" dollars depend on a group of scientists supporting the idea of anthropogenic global warming, are you not? You are aware of the hundreds of billions of

I was wondering how many people had picked up on that. I've always like his movies, but ever since Boston Legal he's really been a hero of mine. His banter with William Shatner throughout the series is absolute perfection.

They don't have nuclear capabilities. You might be thinking of Iran.

Well since they have cell phones sporting QHD screens, I'm willing to bet that someone somewhere can spot the difference between 4k and 1440p on a 17" screen, but as the article clearly states, this is a 18.4" screen.

It is interesting no doubt. I've tested games on 4k and 1440p and I lose framerates enough on 4k to have the settings on high, but 1440p I'm able to run ultra and be at 60-80fps on Starcraft 2.

Interesting. There are some games that the HUD hasn't scaled and it can be weird, but my vision is good and I'm able to deal with it for the improved visuals. Games with a lot of reading involved I'll usually reduce to 1440p just to reduce that issue. The Secret World was one I had to do that with.

Yes, I read those reviews as well. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were wrong in this case.

This is not too bad as long as it's all of ESPN's offerings. Otherwise I feel like this is just more crappy bundling. The Travel Channel? Really?? Just give me ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, etc for 20 bucks and you have a deal!

Since the Broadwell processors are not out yet, there is only speculation as to what the exact power consumption will be. However, if you compare the wattage of your 6 year old processor and the Broadwell, then compare the performance of the two, you'll see that the performance is likely 10x better or greater with the

I haven't tried Titanfall, but every other game I have tried supported it without issues. And what do you mean that it doesn't do it well? It either doesn't work or it does from my experience.

What the hell are you talking about? Having an educated opinion on a subject does not mean I'm being a prude. Nor does being ignorant of a subject make you a peasant, just an idiot.

Oops I meant to put GTX 770. Still the point stands that with a single card that isn't even the high end of the generation it's able to run every game I have tried (Dragon Age: Inquisition, Starcraft 2, Skyrim, and more) on high settings and get over 40fps throughout.
