The only thing Jobs had as an advantage was being on multiple lists. He still had to wait his turn, just like everyone else.

Agreed.

I love the iPad. I had an iPad 2 and used it all the time for school, but then it got closer to iPad 3 release and thought I may as well sell it now before the value drops so I can basically get the iPad 3 for $100. The only problem is the withdrawals! Now I have to go back to trying to type out my math notes and

You could argue it's a bug, though a bug that only happens when you switch out hardware without rebooting the device is stretching the definition a bit.

I agree that iPads and primary schools don't mix. I let my kids use my iPad under supervision, but wouldn't just hand one over to be carried around and taken home with them. My experience is with the college level, and for that it's great and intuitive. Even before iBooks2.0.

Stupid auto complete. :P

@Brian - This article has a lot of pessimism more that concrete evidence one way or the other. You are also leaving out the eTextbooks already available on the iPad. I have been using my iPad 2 for school since day one and last fall was able to buy every single text needed through Coursesmart.com and access on my

Wow you are serious, I thought you were trolling! Look, little pimple, even if a school had to pony up for an iPad 2 for every student as well as the eTextbooks, they would still come out saving money. Not to mention the fact that most of what can be turned in digitally can be graded automatically which would save

NSFW at 1:06 people. Might wanna tag the article.

But what was the reason they decided to turn away a mob that had been waiting all night? If I had a company and gave no reason for not coming through with something that people wanted THAT bad, I'd be out of business!

The Halo fiasco was more about Microsoft flying in with a shitload of cash to woo Bungie. Apple had already given Bungie a serious time/monetary investment and Bungie bailed anyway.

I've dropped my 13" MBP right on the corner and it dinged. This is a 5' drop I'm talking about, right onto the pavement. The display was undamaged. No cracks nothing. Just a small dent on the corner of the display and bottom chassis. I died a little that day cause it wasn't perfect anymore, but knowing that would have

Just think of how great this will be for the disabled. I know my cousin would love to have this instead of the few things he has to strap to his chair currently.

What was so difficult or impossible to do on an iPad? Everything it can do is easy and everything it can't do is run flash.

We should see what Tom Hanks thinks of this one.

Okay but really, if you had an excuse to send something into the stratosphere and you passed it up, could you live with yourself? Just watching that video gives me the chills because of how awesome it would be to send something that high and be able to see it free falling the whole way back down. Awesomeness is as

To say that the Kindle Fire can compete with the iPad 2 is a stretch. It can compete with the original iPad I'll admit that, but buying a used iPad would still net you more apps, longer battery, and better performance. The only thing it has going for it is that people want an alternative to iOS devices. It can't do

I can't find the study where I read about this, so right now I can't back it up. It did cover how being in a "thumper" vehicle can cause millisecond disruptions in brain activity. This would lead to the conclusion that it does have an effect, but yes I was exaggerating with the seizure effects.
