Black interiors are ok, the tan leather option is barf-tastic

I like some of the refresh changes, some not so much

Which Cayman do you have? I just got a 981 GTS, fantastic car

Nah its not even humble, its an arrogant brag

Yeah the interiors were nothing great either, 997 made such a huge improvement in interior design, fit/finish

Yeah they had to go and abuse things and ruin the whole party. I was an Axanar donor too, which annoys me even more.

It’s a shame that someone went thru all the trouble and hard work to bake a cake....

Yeah but nobody is debating the rear of the 996, that was never the issue.

My understanding is the C7 finally has an interior that doesn’t scream ‘cheap GM’ one of my coworkers has a C7 stingray and at a glance at least, it looked respectable and not embarassing for a sports car in that class & price point

Here’s mine: The W204 generation C Class really embarassed the W203 in almost every way: design, build quality, etc. While I linked the AMG cars, even the base cars looked great and drove well for the most part.

996 911 turbo still had undesirable ‘non-oval/round’ headlamps tho.

Uh, it still had the fried egg headlamps

I wrote basically the same thing and agree with you whole heartedly. The C4 gen was the worst combination of looks + build quality

More like the C5 ruined the fairly terrible and painfully 80s C4

that’s a given, doesn’t even need to be asked

Yeah, I have the manual 6 spd and the lower, stiffer passive Sport chassis suspension, i think for longer trips it would take more out of me. When I drive it as its meant to, its joy, and while cruising its no means brutal, but not as relaxing as a true cruiser. Your PASM suspension and pdk transmission help with that

Good luck on your search. Interested to hear what you end up getting. I cross shopped with the Jag F Type but it doesn’t fit my personal, I like more quiet, subtle performance that doesn’t shout and make itself known. I wanted the ultimate handler and not care about top end power.

Further regarding long road trips, while doable on the Cayman, I think that’s where the GT character of the 997 or 991 911 is better suited. The very upright seating position of the Cayman with little room to recline back would wear on the driver after a while.

I wouldn’t know that about the Mustangs as I don’t attend C&C meets regularly (Doug DeMuro reference)

Yeah I’m disagreeing with you on the ‘not worth it’ not the ‘unattractive’ point.
