This definitely wasn’t the case BEFORE Black Friday. I had to purchase a second 3DS so husband and I could play Pokemon Sun/Moon together. I bought a brand new Yokai Watch 2DS from Walmart.com (specifically from Walmart, not a seller) about a week before those games came out last month. I went for that because I was

Depends on the anime, depends on the fanservice. I don’t care about fanservice myself, so the shows that are specifically all about the fan-service I avoid. It hasn’t happened often, but a few shows I specifically dropped because the fanservice went too far. But other shows that sometimes get fanservice complaints I

Ah, Super Potato. The store I wanted to love but could not find myself able to because of the price gouging. It’s great for tourists, who don’t have the time to look around at other places. But for anyone who is in Japan for a longer period of time, you’re far better off going to Hard-Off, A-Too in Osaka, ordering

Now playing

For those who want to see more gameplay and missed it, a month ago Breath of the Wild was actually featured on the web/Youtube-only video series, Gamecenter DX (hosted by Arino of Gamecenter CX’s comedy partner). It’s not English subbed though.

Animorphs didn’t exist before FFIV/FFII SNES’ release. Just sayin’.

Magearna (brand new 7th gen event/mythical Pokemon) is out next month. That’s one you’d miss by waiting.

Looks like it could be a really epic sci-fi movie. I’m in!

It’s probably good they never sold the Wii U Gamepad separately. If they had done that, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people would’ve bought it and expected it to work with their original Wii.

The food, I get. It’s Japan and a limited cafe after all.

I’m in the ball jointed doll hobby, and there’s a few companies that make the dolls with the small bodies and the gigantic heads. Like Pullip.I’ve never liked the looks of them, even when they make characters I like, like Sailor Moon characters.

I’ve always wondered how Japan, and other countries, teach various aspects of world history. Just out of curiosity. Like some other commenters said, even the US is guilty of teaching questionable stuff in history class to kids.

If this works out well, the Big Island of Hawaii should do it too. They only have 1 active volcano, but between that volcano + solar + possibly wind power, it feels like they should be able to cover all of that island’s needs.

If it’s that nice, then why don’t some Pokemon want to stay in their Pokeball? Like Ash’s Pikachu or May’s Skitty?

I think this is a great idea. I haven’t bought any of the Limited Run games indies yet, but it’s only a matter of time before one of these companies prints a game I want to buy.

Are anime music videos considered anime? Then this should be too. It’s basically an AMV, just with its own original animation - created by a professional anime studio in Japan even. I don’t see why non-Japanese music, or the fact that it wasn’t created for the Japanese audience in particular, would make it not anime.

I used to work on a US military base in Japan. I wasn’t military, but some of my friends on-base were. The funny thing about this is the JSDF pretty much aren’t allowed to have much of anything personal in their dorm room. They aren’t allowed to have Girls und Panzer figures or anything like that. So when some JSDF

I think the problem with a site like this is that anime is made by the Japanese. I lived in Japan, and your average Japanese person does not have enough English knowledge to be able to read and understand it. There’s also the fact that some anime makers out there specifically state that they are making anime for the

I don’t know about your international distribution question, since I also don’t know much about how anime licensing works.

Yeah, tickets are about $25 per person (for regular movies, not IMAX/3D) in Japan.

I don’t know how long Japanese governor terms last, but the person who just got elected governor of Tokyo wants Tokyo to be “anime land” (as if it isn’t already in certain districts...). So this is appropriate. I’m sure she will help.
