I’ve always wondered how Japan, and other countries, teach various aspects of world history. Just out of curiosity. Like some other commenters said, even the US is guilty of teaching questionable stuff in history class to kids.

Are anime music videos considered anime? Then this should be too. It’s basically an AMV, just with its own original animation - created by a professional anime studio in Japan even. I don’t see why non-Japanese music, or the fact that it wasn’t created for the Japanese audience in particular, would make it not anime.
