Yes, her poor excuse for music (with that godawful forced accent) is certainly one if the reasons she's disliked. But she's also made a bunch of racist and homophobic statements which is why a good deal of people seem to hate her.

Just because it's said in The UK doesn't mean that's where it came from. As someone else mentioned "bless you" and "bless you child" have been the Southern lady's way of saying fuck you since there have been Southern ladies. And others mentioned it being extremely popular in the Caribbean.
