"Glitch" or not, it's stealing. It's common to get software for free when you purchase a new machine. If you're not purchasing the new computer then you haven't earned the new version and should therefore pay for it if you want the upgrade. You aren't entitled to get something for free just because others are

I upgraded to Mavericks and I think it was worth it for the tagging feature alone.

This site says 8GB is the max for a mid 2010 MBP. I'm not that computer literate so excuse me if this is a stupid question, but it will work okay if I do 16?

Thanks! According to this 8GB is the max for mine, but judging how well 4GB worked for a while I think that should be enough.

That's the one. I think I would chose people cheese if there were a gun to my head.

I have a mid 2010 MBP that I've been considering this for. It works beautifully for most general purposes. But I'm a photographer who quite often works on multiple RAW or large TIFF files at a time, and I would love to be able to run some music in the background or be able to take a break and surf the web without

If you had to chose, would you rather scarf down a slice of this cheese or a nice hunk of Casu Marzu?

Plus in an increasingly technology filled word exposing children to tablets and computers at a young age is going to give them a great boost in that field. There's a lot more to learn with those than there is watching whatever reality show their parents are watching on TV.

For future reference wnKKK is a troll who posts nothing but racist and sexist shit. Don't feed him. You're just giving him what he wants. It's sad people get off on that type of shit.

I think something is going on with the system. Everything looks funky to me, and all of the symbols are replaced with random numbers. It takes 5 clicks to find out which button I want.

I unfollowed them because of another racist post they reblogged a week or so ago. People are fucking awful.

Rose hip seed oil works very well for me. I used to love Burt's Bee's Repair Serum which is mainly rose hip seed oil with other good things like aloe, jojoba oil, and tocopherol.

I know stealing everything you think you're entitled to is not only accepted in modern culture, but encouraged. But seeing it on Lifehacker is a really big bummer.

Me too. I don't buy anything tested on animals, owned by parent companies who test on animals or that contain parabens, sls, phthalates... etc. The remaining products are pretty expensive and oftentimes ineffective so I've learned how to pretty much do everything from scratch. I use coconut oil as a leave-in (just

It's the hunt that makes second-hand so much fun. After wading through piles of crap when you find that one absolute gem it's just so satisfying! When I lived in a big city it was great because you could find some really high end items at a steal. Now I live in the middle of nowhere and there's unfortunately not

My grocery store sells a great brand (Aura Cacia) in the natural food section. But you can just get them on Amazon as well. NOW and Plant Therapy brands are inexpensive and surprisingly good quality.

If you want your hair to grow add peppermint and/or rosemary oil to your hair products. I put them in my shampoo as well as my conditioning and hot oil treatments (glorious for your hair). I am pretty young and have incredibly thick hair, but it was starting to noticeably thin from severe stress. Despite the stress

Racists are not good people. They are bad people who may have some good points. Being nice to those like yourself does not take effort, and it does not excuse their behavior. And "gentle attempts at educating" racists doesn't work. If it did there wouldn't be any. Also you're talking a lot about what it was like

I just checked and unless I'm missing something (okay, that's totally possible) I can't post on Groupthink, only to my personal blog.

I take Vitamin D because I never leave the house and need it as a supplement. It has done nothing for my depression but I'm not sure how much you're supposed to take to make that work. I take 2-3,000 units a day.
