Sorry for the late reply, as I am trying to figure out this new Kinja format. No, it's not mine. I think its a SEMA design I grabbed from the internets.

I don't really care what they call it, a name is nothing but a name, call it Comanche Pup, Scrambler Pico, 'lil Wagoneer...whatever. Fiat owns Chrysler now, and they can do whatever they want, including naming rights. The old Chrysler bastardized the "Renegade" marque by when they put god awful with plastic cladding

I mean seriously, the new "Cherokee" is a 100% soft roader. It's going to compete with near luxury crossovers, and don't expect it to ever be an XJ.

Vehicle Sound Dampening:

This list is really only relevant if you live in a warm and dry climate. As a resident of the rust belt I can honestly say that anything under $1000 will have more holes than a pasta strainer. Sure there are decent projects at any price, but $1000 is more of a parts car price. The rust belt, and most of the

For not much more money than the outgoing Ranger 4.0V6. One can obtain a base F150 V6 that is much, much more capable. The Ranger was great with the latest 4 banger, and a stick-shift...but Americans liked neither. The rest of the world only buys a truck if they absolutely need one, and will pay dearly to have it.

They have always done extreme testing on their engines and cars. most testing is done with early prototypes/hand machined parts. The real world has years of abuse on real world engines made by people on a quick assembly line. I think most engines today are reliable, but no high performance turbos have a proven

You are dead right about B&O from the design aspect. The sound is good, but not fantastic compared to other brands in the same price point. I disagree with your comments about Bose though, their stuff doesn't sound that crappy. Bose's fault is their marketing, they sell on TV, in malls, and through catalogues.

I love the idea of a high powered production truck. I cannot, and will not buy an ecobeast though. The fact that Ford is really pushing the high boost turbos scares the crap right out of me. I have driven a regular ecoboost f-150 and really liked it, but I dont think these engines will last beyond 75,000 miles

The practicality of the hatchback? Really? Have you seen how little space you get in the hatch with the back seats up? Pretty much zero, at least in the 2006-2011 models. The trunk on the sedan was as big as the Corollas at the time. That being aside, the 1.5l engine is gutless, but not much different from cars

As a former 2001 Miata special edition owner I would love to chime in.

Honestly, the price of gas doesn't really make much difference at all. Gasoline/diesel/lpg etc... goes up in price like bread, rice...whatever. We as a society notice the cost of fuel, because we are visually reminded of those prices every day.

I took a Figaro out for a test drive a few years back. There was a fad about 4-5 years ago in the Toronto area where people were importing kei cars and rare rhd vehicles. We here in Canada have a much better 15 year import rule, but our insurance companies are not so fond of the rhd vehicles...so getting insurance

The GM/Olds Quad-4 was a total peice of crap. Even though the pushed out upwards of 180hp, most didn't last beyond 25-30k miles. I remember hearing stories about the engines grenading as early as 10,000 miles of mixed driving! In the late 80's GM was touting this as the engine as a game changer. Sure the Beretta

you win!!

Yay! A hipster gets his bike back!

I am going to hold out for the new 2012 Eclipse air cleaner...at least it will be better than the car they produce.

Sometimes your best road eats are the ones you don't have to wait for. C'mon!

Nothing beats the Flying J. They have the best, greasy, truck stop pizza money can buy. They are located everywhere too....not just a regional thing.
