Ugh. Back to this frustrating, pain in the ass, incredibly fun game.
I live in a city, and while the infrastructure is decent, I have to deal with a 1 TB/month cap. Streaming sure as fuck isn’t my future.
Yep, there’s a reason why physical sales of games are still the key metric in the UK, because while digital is going up people still don’t want to try and download an entire 60gb game.
I don’t like the design of this controller. It looks like a stretched version of the controller you would normally find with an xbox one.
That is what’s going to be a huge thorn in the side of Google and maybe even one they can’t overcome. Had they continued the roll out of Fiber, that could have been a great way to get more users excited for this. My prediction is for some people, this will be great, but the vast majority of people it’s not going to…
Man, I don’t know. Streaming seems like an awesome idea that most of the country doesn’t have the infrastructure for yet, but people a lot smarter than me and a lot more clued in on the nuts and bolts of the topic think it’s ready to be a thing, so what do I know.
AGREED! The D-Pad was the first thing that stood out. Haven’t gamers agreed that a unibody d-pad is atrocious? R&D could have figured that out with a quick... Google.
Random internet comment: “Steaming is the future.” /s
Eh, I got my hands on it about a decade ago at Eurogamer Expo, where they said it’d be the next revolution in gaming.
or better yet, basic universal income...
That’s all well and good, but it still needs to work properly out of the box.
Making the text bigger is easy; making all the layouts still work (keeping everything on the screen, preventing “overflow” out of bounding boxes, etc.) can be a cascading series of complicated reworks depending on how flexible their UI system is.
Adding an option for larger text would be a trifle, but, adding such an item to the to-do-list of a dev like Ubisoft is way harder. I’ve been really surprised by the patches and choices Ubi has had to make lately. We all (well, I) clamored for NG+ on AC Origins, they actually go ahead and patch one in and people are…
I can’t speak for the console version, but on pc there are multiple options in game for this. You can resize, recolor, and shadow the subtitles all the way up to jumbo “cover half my screen” size. The UI also has multiple options for “big text” and can be reconfigured with multiple presets. Hopefully a console player…
That is some serious dedication, 150 hours in to a game you aren’t actually enjoying sounds like hell, idk if I’ve ever played a game I didn’t enjoy for more than 5 minutes, there are sooooooo many great games out there
The tiny text thing is kind of baffling. I know when the move to HD started, there were games that if you didn’t have a fairly recent TV, it was almost impossible to read or see what was going on. Plus, this being Ubi, I could swear that any of their recent releases over the last few years haven’t had this problem.
only a few dozen streamers, if even, have gotten very big...
I do alright in terms of keeping my students awake and engaged, but yeah—I don’t think I have the personality, charm, or wherewithal to hold the attention of an audience constantly demanding ever-escalating levels of entertainment.
My hat’s off to those who do.
They can keep it. I certainly know I don’t have the patience, personality, or inclination to deal with the amounts of drama their profession generates. The same could be said for any performance career, really. I’ll happily stay in my behind-the-scenes tech industry job, making my comfortable paycheck and largely…
