Ok, thank you. When I said I was skeptical before I didn’t mean I thought it was a lie, but seems like there’s enough brain power out there to make these things work without such a burden on hard drives. I wouldn’t mind if not for games like RDR2 taking an unholy amount of space.

Programmer here: Optical disk drives are perhaps the slowest form of memory used in modern computers, and not just by a marginal amount, it’s in a whole different magnitude. While processing speed increases year to year, data transfer speed doesn’t really increase at all. As we keep making file sizes larger, if we

Yeah that completely confuses me. Is it just like a temporary patch that will remove some files after install or is this the final size.

If this problem gets worse, and dumb things like data caps keep existing, I worry that this might affect how big-budget games are made.

Ergghhh Data caps and “Fair Usage “ are a pain and with games constantly being updated now its getting worse

The severe filesize bloat of games this generation has to be one of the bigger turn-offs for me, especially with my data capped internet. What happened to general file compression, or only installing what’s needed for that given region?

It’ll eventually get to the point where playing the game via streaming service at

Any insight as to why the PS4 version is almost twice the size?

I didn’t even bother with online, I just can’t wrap my head around how a PVP game with the slow (er... kinda boring) combat of RD2 would be enjoyable at all.

Rockstar needs to understand that players don’t want to play against other players as much as they just want to experience an amazingly vast, detailed world full of characters and stories WITH THEIR FRIENDS.

Yeah, but once you add a store and take money for in game items, that kind of refutes the “beta” tag.

See they say Beta, that’s fine. Then I notice that they’re selling stuff already.

I wish I could understand how missions handle payouts cause I got .34 cents for that “kill them all” mission. I raided a old army fort for all of couch change.

It is Frozenbyte, not sure why the article says Modus Games is the developer. As you said, it’s a publisher, and I think it’s part of Maximum Games. Modus is bringing a Trine Ultimate Collection (1-3) to retail as well for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

They ran out of funding and time for 3. It is not really finished. Story just kind of stops at one point.

Too much effort...I just gave a gray-market dude $5.00 USD for 80,000,000 GTA and that’s been enough to get everything I wanted :-D

Hear, hear!

I’ve long ranted about how I don’t think most open world games justify their open world. The way I see it, if traversing an environment in an interesting way is a key part of your gameplay sandbox, then go ahead and use an open world. But if the game isn't about any of that... maybe don't arbitrarily stretch out your

Total noob question:  Why are there always two versions of the game?  Red & Blue, Gold & Silver, now Sword & Shield.  Are they two different games?  Are the stories or gameplay different?  Why two?  WHY TWO??
