That jumped out at me too.
That jumped out at me too.
What if, instead of desexualizing female characters, game developers sexualized male characters? Fanboys get to keep their bouncing boobies, fangirls get Zac Efron-looking characters in impractical armor that shows off their abs for no reason. Win/win.
NYC's "in a new york minute" quickdry top coat is the cheapo version of this.
As a young child, me and my best friend used to pour water on the linoleum kitchen floor, take off all our clothes, and slide around on our stomachs. We called it "playing penguins."
When I was a kid my family lived abroad and traveled a lot, which meant I spent a lot of time on airplanes. I was pretty well adjusted to it, but I still managed to utterly mortify my poor parents on one particular occasion. I was maybe 2 or 3 when this happened.
Oh no, her muscles are wrong, it's way worse than the other covers. :/
Oh, I'm sure she was willing. It's her job to show up and be willing to do sexual poses, especially to score a cover that is an extremely huge deal for her career, in a field where popularity comes and goes.
I always find it kind of weird when people talk about whether probiotics are worth the trouble without mentioning yeast infections. Why so squeamish?
"The fact is, it's a love story... that there's a little bit of kinky sex in there is an added bonus."
Meh. If you look at most big Hollywood movies, four female leads is actually pretty unusual. Especially in sci fi. Four male leads isn't unusual at all, and people rarely complain about it.
Jenny Trout read the whole trilogy and made fun of it. Her version is probably a better use of your time.
Babes, the Irish are no longer oppressed in America, and gingers-have-no-soul jokes are a far cry from real discrimination. If you are taking a story about a person who is racially oppressed and moving it to the modern day, it doesn't make sense to cast a ginger.
I've never met a ginger who felt offended by that. I've met a few who joked about it constantly. And I've never encountered a single person who believed it, whereas people in the 30's genuinely did believe the Irish were inferior humans. Male gingers are still seen as undesirable sometimes, but female natural redheads…
I agree that it's not. I haven't seen the movie yet — I want to, but I'll wait for the DVD — but I do think that the race change makes a lot of sense, and the people whining about it are silly.
Haven't seen it yet, but in the trailer they mention George Clooney, so it's at least present day.
Not sci fi (although technically comics) but I think the recent raceshift in Annie was great.
Guardians of the Galaxy was enjoyable and entertaining, but the best scifi movie of the year? I walked about of the theater having been amused... and that was it. There were some really eye-rolly moments, too. Maybe it just got overhyped?
The Boring Friend
How cool would it be if Guillermo del Toro somehow got put in charge of Star Wars?
Yeah, it's sooooo pro-woman to ban female ejaculation and facesitting but not male ejaculation and facefucking. And let's not even talk about all the Pro-Dommes who have been making their own porn to sell who are now severely restricted and are going to lose significant income as a result of this.
