That’s a great point. Literally the only time it’s okay for a white person to say it is if they are in a Tarantino movie LMAO

You can sing a song. Don’t make this bigger than it is, which is what the OP is doing
If they want to say it so bad they need to own it.
If you wanna call people the n word go ahead, just own it.
Words mean things. She is calling someone a nigga in the song. By you singing it, you are doing the same.
Please don’t do this.
Nope - Black people using the n-word is fine and non-Black people using it isn’t, end of story and clearly true by any moral, ethical, or historically informed standard. ‘TOP TEN’ song lyrics aren’t a magic excuse, and the thousands of white people that manage to sing lyrics to great songs while skipping the one word…
Strong disagree. I believe Ta-Nehisi Coates pointed this out recently. It is really really easy to not sing along to that word. Like super easy. While black people have to constantly police what they say at the risk of being seen as angry or hostile or whatever.
It’s always stranger still when they choose to sing a song with the word in it and then act like it’s Black people’s fault they’re placed in the dilemma of singing it or not (the answer is of course fucking not).
True, and that also shows the type of people they are.
Just don’t say it.
Yellow is associated with antifa, if that floats your boat? Or there is always the standard black that comes in most Docs.
Because her weight is none of our fucking business.
As long as Nick Oliveri is out of the band, I don’t think we’ll hear anything like Millionaire again.
It is my second behind Songs For the Deaf and ahead of Era Vulgaris. It is slower and, as you mentioned, sad and introspective. So I can understand why people who loved Rated R and SFtD wouldn’t be fans of some of ...Clockwork’s ballad oriented tracks. Villains, from what I’ve heard so far, seems more upbeat and…
Keep in mind I’m speaking relatively here, the last three songs on LC are probably the best ending to any of their albums and I Appear Missing is the best song they’ve ever done.
The fake radio station stuff is the only tarnish for that album. It was fine for the intro to Millionaire, but they should’ve ditched the gimmick after that.
It’s ok to be wrong, sometimes.
Smh at the continued disrespect for EV. Like Clockwork has some good songs but getting through it is an absolute slog. EV sounds like Evil Santa’s workshop where elves are making toys for bad kids with power tools. It’s fun!
20 years? Me still think of them as new-ish band. Me getting old!
