Whenever I’m standing on a basketball court and the floor under my right foot suddenly inverts to 35 degrees, I regret wearing low-tops.
I very much disagree. In a world where Matthew Dellavedova is making almost $10 million per year, Chris Paul will be able to make $15 million easy until he’s 40.
If my state income tax math is right (it’s probably not, but I think it’s close), the real difference is more like $26 million, and that’s with one fewer year in San Antonio. Paul will probably still command a hefty salary four years from now, so I’m not sure he’d really lose that much in this move.
Nah, he’s definitely a point guard. Don’t think too hard.

Why the hell do you shoot free throws for an entire hour every day?
FOH. He wasn’t as good as Utley but at his peak he was objectively more thrilling to watch. If Utley was more thrilling he’d have at least come closer to winning a (deserved) MVP than a 7th-place finish. You can keep your HBPs.
No argument here that LeBron is amazing, but he’s literally the closest Cavalier to Crowder when he secures the rebound. Doesn’t take much presence of mind to foul a guy who’s right in front of you when you’re down 2 with 5 seconds left.
The confounding variable here is that the MLB has the most diverse set of champions because baseball is a really random sport.
I don’t buy for a second that either of these guys is content shooting sub-50% on free throws because of their paychecks. No one with that little self-motivation is anywhere near the NBA, let alone all stars, regardless of their physical tools. I don’t like the salary cap either but come on man.
Trier didn’t shoot 53.9% last year. His 2P% was 53.9, but his FG% was 46.6.
One of my favorite things about this is CMU’s second-leading scorer (17.6), Braylon Rayson, is also 5'9". Those two guys score more than half of their team’s points!
Yeah, he was easily the most hyped player in the state last year. I heard him touted multiple times as the best high school PG prospect from California since Jason Kidd.
Yeah, Hayes really comes out on the losing end here. I’m sure he’d much rather switch outcomes with Smith.
Thanks for letting me know. I had no idea. I realize now that they are in fact not good.
I, too, draw conclusions about an 82-game season from the result of the first game.
I think no one talks about them because they aren’t as good as the Cavs and Warriors. Their 18-4 record is going to turn out to be something of a mirage. Their differential is only +5.0, which is really good, but only 6th-best in the NBA. The 14-9 Jazz are right behind them at +4.9. They’ve been fortunate in a lot of…
This take is about 5 years past its expiration date.
Small mistake: he was 5 for 20 on two-point shots, not 5 for 25.
