What I learned from the COTD yesterday is that there are far, far too many people that are okay with folks’ violent responses to slights. It makes me very sad.

I didn’t say it was perfect, I said it’s how it should be done. That’s what civilized people do; they don’t assault people because they’re angry. I agree that there are also serious problems with our justice system that should be addressed, but that’s an entirely separate issue and doesn’t absolve the attacker here.

That’s what I’m learning, and it makes me incredibly disappointed in my fellow humans. :(

Please don’t get me wrong, I in no way condone any of the actions of the impaired driver, and I understand the reasoning behind the assaulter’s violence, but none of that makes it okay IMO.

While I don’t have a fursuit, I get it. I totally get it.

Obviously the driver with the Reese’s was absolutely in the wrong, but as a civilized society we have a means of addressing that situation and it doesn’t involve illegally assaulting people. I struggled with this one. If he were filled with bacteria then there would be no reason to inflate him with the bike pump. The bacteria would just replace all of the air which was pumped into him, meaning the time spent with the pump was pointless. Of course I still lol’d though.
