So many breads and levels of done-ness to choose from - a lightly toasted challah with organic lingonberry jam, an extra-crunchy caraway rye with chived cream cheese, a hippy-ish sunflower seed bread toasted then drenched in olive oil...

So the point is to buy Benefit if you want people to think you're an insufferable asshole?

A lot of "anti-obesity" outreach is the fucking White Man's Burden for neurotic thin(ner) people. Skinny Bitch's Burden maybe?

He should just tell people "Yes, I realize my wife isn't financially dependent on me, but I know she'll never leave me because my ass is just too sweet. Don't hate the player, baby." ;)

Dude, I wish my hubs was uncomfortable with my salary being on par with/slightly above his. I would love to break out of corporate life but my husband gets twitchy when he thinks about the 50% cut in household income.

What's extra super dumb about lingerie marketing not being racially diverse is that shopping for lingerie has so much more to do with finding things that work for your figure than any other factor.

Like throwing with power and accuracy, practice helps. Bodies learn what we teach them to do, riding a bike etc. :)

I can see how different body mechanics for the male and female skeleton account for some differences — center of gravity is different, hips and breasts change your follow-through, etc. But, yeah, the rest of that is bullshit.

Thanks for writing the article that should have been written by Jezebel writers.

Because the plain chinos, colored t-shirts, and button-downs they sell at J. Crew for 5x as much money are obvs so much better. And vintage designer clothing stores are renowned for their great selections of children's clothes.

Holy shit that Carly Rae Jepson track is atrocious.

I used to work as a tenant's rights counselor in a college town. Clauses like that were not uncommon among landlords who were renting only one property/renting space in their own home. Most landlords used a standardized lease that they could get through the university that had been vetted/kept them out of legal

Everyone knows that working class people settle domestic disputes with dance-offs. Did West Side Story teach you nothing?

Also: if you held a fundraiser to combat violence against young men and boys, you would raise so much money.

Agree - where's the problem with that? If the converse were true and more divorces were initiated by men I might raise an eyebrow, since women are usually economically disadvantaged to men and divorce is such a destroyer of wealth. But even then, more women are economically self-sufficient now, divorce isn't quagmire

I grew up with Meijer's stores, which have always been like that. Love them. The week's groceries, a pair of sneakers, a ream of printer paper, some WD-40 and I can GTFO.

I dunno. As a market researcher, there's a significant potential for confirmation bias in this kind of work. In the way that the study could be designed or in the way respondents answer there could be a tendency to regurgitate the same thing you already 'knew'.

Sometimes I won't get the blue cardigan (or whatever) because I hate everything else that it's staged with. And actually walking around in a complete outfit that's on a mannequin in a store somewhere? ::shudder::

My husband's going to be so surprised to find out that I'm actually a guy, and he's a lady (because marketing is true, y'all).

When my ship comes in, I'm hiring Aziz Ansari to do all my internet commentating.
