@DrGonzho: I also use a toughbook! Partly because I'm accident-prone, but also because they look badass. iPad users can have fun with their angry birds. I will be *working,* thanks very much.

@lostarchitect: Ask anybody who bought a keyboard for their iPad. I also like that in Asus's version, you don't have to buy the keyboard separate as it folds out, with a stand included. You could use that puppy anywhere for anything and not have to carry accessories with you.
@panikt: EPC.
I freakin love the wraparound desk. The only major modification I would make is to add some colors in. You don't just work there, you live there. At least make it pleasant.
Can anyone reccomend a decent VESA mount? I'm on a students budget but I was gifted a 24" screen for christmas and the stand it comes with sucks. I need one for use on a desk; I'm not allowed to mount stuff to the walls in my apartment.
@dillinger: MIT's OpenCourseWare has a whole lecture series on Python you can watch for free.
Flash games are nice and all but if you want to play some older PC games, gog.com has them on the cheap.
@IcyDefiance: The graphics were the weakest part? Try the combat mechanics, or the whole grindfest thing. I last played 6 years ago and the graphics were pretty OK for a browser game.
@BacteriaEP: People just like to be ridiculous. My laptop weighs in at 6 pounds and I bring it to campus every day, along with various textbooks and old-fashioned notebooks. I looked at the comments and see people moaning about lugging computers around... this is ridiculous. It's like every giz commenter is so…
any of these for iOS? I'm gifting an iPod touch and my sister isn't exactly tech savvy.
I was messing with a Tab at a best buy and it was just awful. I don't understand why Samsung would say 'let's make a tablet' but also make it stuttery and take forever to boot up.
The bose thingies use active circuitry to block out ambient noise, meaning stuff like the a/c. People's voices will still come through! I have also heard that the circuitry creates a slight hissing noise. If you want real sound isolation try Sennheiser HD 280's. They don't sound as nice as my 555's but these will…
@Nerubasasin19: not really a joke. I'm at ISU and near everyone is hurting for a job.
This is why I traded my bicycle in for a motorcycle. There will always be car drivers that give you just inches of space. There will always be drivers that pass you and then perform a right turn without signals that you barely avoid running into (right hook). There will always be douches that shout out their…
@AltimanEO: everything is encrypted and decrypted locally. I use lastpass and I'm a happy camper.
I usually just google it. If I need more comprehensive help I'll post on AskReddit [reddit.com] or try my luck on Aardvark [vark.com]
I have a guest network set up on my router for this very purpose. I give them that SSID/password so I don't have to worry about them snooping through my stuff.
@ben1605: but not in comments
@rheerani: I took a look, and those look more or less like flash games. I saw tic tac toe and fancy pants adventures. I'm talking about games like bioshock, mass effect, Oblivion, etc.
